I guess this means that they'll never lower the fucked up 30k requirement

That was probably apparent when they made the whole "you're not getting 100-piece Alexes because fuck you" post.

Yeah, "Bhaf-Knock" is the term JPs used for farming doors in Bhaflau. I always found the term amusing.

Thank you for your reply. I'll respond to your two concerns.

    1) About Crystals.

I was thinking that there might be some momentary consumption of the crystals immediately after the introduction of the content, but not really a significant impact in the long run. For those who play Voidwatch, since you can already warp to many areas, there shouldn't be many people using this method of movement.

Hypothetically, even if the price of crystals did rise, the number of sellers should then increase and we would expect the price to gradually fall back down over time. I am not particularly concerned about this, however, as no large price fluctuations have occurred.
I hate to say it, but he's right. If you're teleporting around via these founts instead of cruor (unless its the best course of action), you deserve to have your gil raped. If you're porting to Selbina via fount instead of just cruor warping to valkurm with absolutely useless cruor and running for 30 seconds...you deserve it for being stupid.

I was under the impression that it was partly added for the convenience of players who haven't progressed in voidwatch (Otherwise why have redundant teleports at all). Even so, it really isn't as expensive as people make it out to be anyway, unless you're constantly warping into dungeons. Outdoor areas like those only cost 30, which is like, 2 crystals of the lowest tier.

To be fair, it would really skew the Alexandrite drops in Bhaflau's favor if they randomly added, say, 5 new guaranteed NMs there that could all drop purses. For the original four areas, as far as Alex goes, I think it's pretty balanced as it is now with maybe a bit of an edge to SSR. Bhaflau obviously has the most variability (by a ton), but I think the average over time from Bhaflau is probably about the same as the others.

AR only falls behind by about 10 Alex compared to SSR, but the problem with BR is that if you try to knock every single door to maximize your chances are cottons, you won't have any time to farm the floor 3 gears for single drops if you want to hit the boss, and Zhayolm doesn't even compare- You need to be really fast and reach F4N within 30 minutes and make sure you have a trio totally unlocked if you want to get all 3 cottons in that area. It may seem like it has more archaic machinery but the times I've run Zhayolm I've ended up with pretty much the same number of singles as I get in SSR.

a number of areas are identical overlaps.. like west saruta (VW windy III) but i suppose its a convenience in case some people don't do voidwatch for some reason or happen to be in selbina or mhaura and don't want to port twice.

the real conveniences come from attohwa and uleguerand.. especially for anyone that still does ENMs. the beastman stronghold ones are also great conveniences, as well as the one to zvahl and chamber of oracles.

i like the SoA teasing (but its no surprise to me ) and am looking forward to it. we'll be able to use waypoints to port to Western and Eastern Adoulin as well as 7 other zones.. and the city itself will have intra-town ports, which i think is just spiffy.

I can't read japanese to check what he's responding to, but I imagine it's about these teleports raising the price of crystals in general (for crafting), not the converted price of the teleports.

Only light/dark would have gone up if anything (due to point values), and they havent really changed much. pre-patch they were 4-5k on carby, now theyre 6k, big deal lol. The downfall of "traditional" parties had a bigger effect on crystal prices than this.

I bought up like 5 wind cluster stacks on the day of patch, thinking I could atleast gain an easy 100k. There just aren't enough people who even care to cap out the waypoint credits, as stated, most people will have VW teles that take you to better spots, usually. The usefulness of the outer founts would benefit poor bastards who want to farm for scrolls or w/e. As for it being expensive travel? Ok, and I thought I was a tightwad lol

I don't think it's worth mentioning either, but they like to respond to those type of posts.

Dark crystals are 5k a stack on my sever, using those, it would cost you roughly 150/520/1500 gil per tele, which is pretty close to the range of outpost warp costs. If you buy clusters it would be cheaper. Assuming you could sell rubicond/cobalt/whatever cells at 40k a stack, a VW warp costs about 1.1k gil converted from cruor. Waypoint teleports are par for the coarse really.

Was somebody seriously complaining about having to buy crystals to power the proto-waypoints? I just made a quick run to sky and killed some light/dark elementals. Then I also killed some more ice/dark elementals running to Ule. Range and Castle Z because I ran past them. 20k+ points and maybe 45 minutes added to my playtime.

    {{Quoted post asking if they can change macros to 16 lines to allow every equipment slot to be changed, etc.}}

His response is that even though they've given reasons against this in the past, it's under consideration for the future.
I think this is the first time they've taken something they've given a really solid "no" to in the past and taken it out for reexamination. I think this pushes me over to the "Matsui is the man" side of things.

Just looking at how the macros are laid out, I'm not sure why they can't just allow us to create gear sets to call on from within. That way, a lot of macros really wouldn't need more than 3-5 lines.

I mean, a way around it without needing to change the core programming or whatever would be to make a command that calls up a certain macro. The only problem with that is that you can endlessly loop macros, which is useful for like, skilling up and nothing else. It's not like a ton of people don't already bot their skillups anyway.

They could just allow /equip stuff beyond a certain point. That would remove any possibility of exploitation.

While I'd like the UI to be a bit more intuitive, what I was inferring to would basically be a possible 16 /equip lines in one "macro" where nothing else would be able to be input. So, if you wanna CDC on BLU, you'd push a macro with something like: /equipset BLU_CDC, /ws "Chant Du Cygne" <t>, /wait 1, /equipset BLU_TP. No risk of botting with that, not that I can think what'd be worth macro botting these days.

    +1

Maybe they could add a system like a cross between macro books and setting blu spells. So just like when you open the macro menu and you have 20 books of macros to choose from, you'd open the equipment menu and have 20~ empty equipment sets to choose from. Then it'd remember what equipment you put in each set much like how it remembers your blu spells. Name them same way how you name macro books, and then call it with a /equip set Name macro.
And if you wanted small changes to each set (Eg, have 1/2 pieces of equipment different depending on buffs you could just macro that piece in separately afterwards. Eg:
    /equip set Stun
    /ma Stun <t>

    or
    /equip set Stun
    /equip feet "Argute Loafers +2"
    /ja "Alacrity" <me>
    /wait 1
    /ma "Stun" <t>

Just make the rampart have a chance to drop the 35. Kill mad bomber, zone in, kill rampart and move on etc.
