It's just Valkurm, he came out of Abyssea obv. Same for Kukulkan/Konschtat. You get the Sobek's skin message when he petrifies you (which is more often than not).

I just looked at the roadmap for 2012 and boy...they did not do a decent job after June keeping their schedule lol. We should have had Cait Sith and the new monster system on the test server back in October

Dash of Tanaka transition and Adoulin development. I think if the latter is good and more than 50% complete at launch, I think a lot of people would be forgiving. But if it just looks like WotG 2.0 with a couple day's worth (JP midnight, yo) of content every 3-4 months, yeah, incoming rage.

Matsui probably has other priorities then Tanaka. His philosophy of FFXI seems to differ alot compared to Barancu Tanaka. I am fine with it atm, because Matsui really wants to settle things right and doesnt want to give us bullshit mobs that are only defeatable with embrava and PD.

I get you guys don't like Tanaka and all, but them not being able to keep to a schedule probably has little to do with balance and more to do with the fact they're focusing most of their efforts on developing the expansion.

I always felt the delay for the roadmap this time around was them taking more time than they expected expanding the hood under their engine to allow for more timers/statues/zones/etc, which was necessary for the expansion either way.

Granted they also did waste a lot of time with the new 2hr....1hr....SPs....whatever.

If those ridiculously crappy 2 hours were part of Tanaka's vision I'd say it was definitely part of the main problem due to having to spend months fixing many of them to actually be halfway good. The other one if you guys remember is that the entire dev team got sick at once a few months ago so they were on even more of a skeleton crew than usual.

I dunno, for some reason that excites me, since it's been the same banner for like 5 years. It's like all those nostalgic movies that came back for just one more installment (Rocky Balboa etc).

i have a good feeling about adoulin. the expansion will hit with a bang. the protoways alone show that this is going into the right direction! 2 new jobs that hopefully bring more to the subjob table. i could see RNF being usefull if you want to deal magical dmg as melee!

That's what I've been thinking - MB expansion, Beastmaster adjustments and the new 2hrs in the next patch followed by Play as a Monster part 1, Cait Sith (lol) and the pre-Adoulin patch then OMG WHAT DO YOU SEEK IN ADOULIN.
