Enfeebling resistance? HA. No, or at least they used to not. I think it was increased in a patch a year ago though, but before that they were so suceptable to enfeebles even level 2 goblin weavers could reliably land poison on oniwaka at 99. Not sure about resist rates on elemental nukes, but those actually were less of a bother because of how high we could pump the automatons magic defense. (with optic fiber, no water maneuvers, and dual mana jammers, you could give them 30 magic defense... with 3 water maneuvers it was 99. lol)

They definitely seemed to not suffer as much of a level penalty via jugpets though. (but it might be due to the attuner and target marker attachments, which seem to reduce the level correction for T+ mobs.) at 75, Oniwaka would melee Kirin for about 50+ a hit, with 90% parsed accuracy, and 350ish cannibal blades. This was without a corsair to boost his damage, because corsairs these days are gimp like that and don't have pet rolls. ';.;' He was often top DD, easily beating out smns, sometimes by twice as much, while slightly beating up a well geared rng or drk with buffs. When the best DD showed up with buffs though, Oniwaka would lose by about 2-3%.

Nothing really exciting on the JP side today, a lot of responses to player posts by Mocchi. The only new tidbit of information I found was that in Adoulin, one of the buffs that was thrown out as an example depending on the condition of the city and the coalition growth was movement speed. They referenced that this information came from a previously published interview (one of those JP magazine interviews that as a non-JP audience we are, of course, not privy to).

Some other nonsensical requests and responses such as making Corsair Bullets available from more locations (they said they might add as drops from various battlefields, WoE and the like). One interesting request was responded to, asking them to create an item like "Battery" or "Wind Fan" that works with ALL weapons, not just one specific kind of weapon. Their response, of course, is that it's not possible given the current design because it is the weapon itself that causes the consumption of the other equipped item, and it would require a complete rework to get that to function with all weapons. However, they may (or may not) look into a different way of implementing this for current weapons.

Then you have an advantage over everyone who isn't a pet, because you're doing equal damage without the drawbacks of physically being in danger.

I wasn't sure if I should put it here, or in the random question thread but.... since they said SMN skill will eventually reach 600 (maybe, probably?) then doesn't it stand to reason the rest of the magic skills can get that high?

If so... would that have much of an impact gameplay wise? (looking at you all you math people )

No. Despite SE randomly deciding to make PD, Embrava, and (for some reason) Avatar's Favor unique snowflakes that continue to improve above 500 skill, the potency of almost every other spell in the game caps at 500 skill (800 combined skill for bard songs is the highest known cap).

Are you stupid? We have no quick and easy way to heal pets, and we are the squishiest class in the game. Right now even BST have pets who are at the least equal to a PC. Stop being stupid.

The pet discussion was a good one, even though it was completely off-topic (although this thread doesn't really ever have any one topic anyhow), but if we're now moving on to "are you stupid" then please just end it before it goes any further down that path. Feel free to continue if you can reign it in. Objectively speaking, his point was valid, and even if it wasn't, he didn't say anything which brings intelligence into question.

All aspects of Embrava cap at 500 enhancing skill, both before and after the spec changes.

His point was not a valid one. I'm sorry for bringing insults into this but it really was a nonsensical statement. Even if it had the exact same stats as a moderately geared MNK or WAR, it would A. Not have the weapon skills or AI to do said weapon skills or anything useful and B. Not be able to heal.

I think people forget how much healing is required to keep someone alive. Everyone is spoiled with /dnc.

The official translation of this also said something about making them obtainable by turning in some sort of points. From an in-setting logic perspective, I'd guess synergy cinders would be good for that, and was even about to suggest that on the OF, but I decided that alchemists don't really need any more of their business destroyed. It's not like high-level alchemy products don't practically fall out of the sky as it is...

The actual PC not being at risk is still a high point. In part, this was what also made BST viable on NMs with plenty of charmable mobs around at 75. What could've taken a group to down, they only needed to run around and throw mobs at the target.

The more pets you start adding, the safer it becomes for the masters. Even on a more mundane level, think pet jobs EXPing on bombs in Garlaige.

His point was valid because avatars can be easily resummoned. If SMNs did the same damage as geared DDs, then why ever use DDs who can die and need healing? PLD+WHM to hold the monster, and fill the rest of the group with SMNs resummoning any avatars that die. And especially since the bulk of avatar damage comes from blood pacts which give monsters no TP, you could really trivialize fights against monsters with no TP regen. But maybe you're thinking of solo vs group situations and that's the disconnect. Because having to heal an avatar in a group situation very rarely matters, unless you're doing a pet only type of fight. But even then, dismiss -> resummon is a 100% heal.

Figured I'd add a visual. This is at ~54ish, as a heads up; level 77 - 80 mob:

Thinking back to the days of smn burning kirin, jorm. Lol

Lets not fool ourselves, smn. Can not get the power if a geared player sorry. Your not a power house dd. This is not the main job.

I think letting pets target other players could help out a little for buffing. As for dd I have a hard time on how to fix that.

No ai, you are the ai lol you say when to bp and what not.

Okay then, how DO you fix SMN, besides removing the job.

The same way you fix BLM. Make fights that require more strategy than buff and zerg. This, of course, requires an emity system fix.

Also would go a long way in removing set BP cooldowns and making smn work like any other job where haste actually matters in recast time.

You really don't need to go back as far as the 75 cap for an example of crap being killed with 50 avatars. I know WoE is dead content but shortly after the change to the drop system, 95% of the jobs there were smn of various skill and gear throwing Garuda at everything till it died. Myself included of course.

I'm in the camp were smn BP timers should be shortened. It would go a long way from making the job just a PD or shocksquall bitch. For pup uh... maybe a ja like empathy to transfer some buffs to the puppet. I haven't fought any thing on pup where I wouldn't be meleeing myself and just use soulsoother as a back up healer. Pup as a rule isn't really asked to anything "endgame" so I can really weigh in on how to make it more useful in that regard. Maybe make sharpshot shoot more often so it's TP gain isn't cut by like 80% when it's deployed at a "safe" distance?

As far as wyverns go, just making NMs not resist the crap out of breaths would be enough imo. Would be useful for blu too. I don't play bst so I can't really say much about it.

What would be interesting is some crafting made straps that are powered by Battery/Fan/Pump/Etc. that do something special like extra Double/Triple/Quadruple Attack. Off to the OF to suggest this, right after I pretend they'll listen (them listening being one of those JP forum features that as a non-JP audience we are, of course, not privy to).
