Any or a combination of the following:

    - Change the BP delay cap down to 30 seconds
    - Make each BP in the rage/ward category have it's own cool down
    - Increase Avatar HP
    - Give spirits their own BP like window but make it based a charge system
    - Create food to buff pets (Attack+%, Accuracy+%, MAB+, etc)

There's more you could do but also as it was stated earlier make fights require a strategy instead of BZ (Buff/Zerg)

I think what it comes down to is SE needs to find a reason to have a hybrid job class. There is almost zero reason to have any of them. smn happens to fall into that group.

It's a really lengthy response to a LOT of the battle mechanics that people have been discussing for months, you definitely want to F5 spam for this one!

Topics include 1H adjustments, defense scaling, merit weapon skills, and magic damage.

So far it seems like they're adjusting 1h weapon damage correction to make them more on par with 2h, also Last Resort/Desperate Blows adjustments.

    Current System
    Last Resort: 0% Haste
    5/5 Desperate Blows + Last Resort: 25%

    New System
    Last Resort: 10% Haste
    5/5 Desperate Blows: +15%

This opens up /DRK as a better sub(makes LR somewhat like a more offensive albeit non-fulltime Hasso...also would make SAM/DRK get 20% JA haste. It's in no way a nerf since the Desperate Blows' +15% is additive with the new base JA Haste of 10% for a total of 25%

Also they're adjusting Merit WS in the following manner:

Currently 1/5 Merit WS gives you a WSC of 17%, and each additional merit is 17% such that 5/5 gives you 85% WSC. What they're going to do instead of increasing the category cap and letting people merit more WS is that they're going to make 1/5 merits in a merit WS give 65% WSC with each additional merit giving +5%. This means merit ws will be A LOT more useful at 1/5 than they currently are, in fact 1/5 in a WS will be equivalent to roughly 4/5 now. So putting 2-5 merits in a merit ws will do less than simply unlocking the WS. So this actually gives pretty good flexibility for those with many jobs, you get almost all the benefit of the WS(65% WSC at 1/5 vs 85% WSC at 5/5)

Also seems like they're going to let you Voidcluster Provenance Watcher, as well as previous explained nerfs to Odin's v2's Level, Legion's NM's DEF/ATT, improvements to Paleo-Salvage's 35 drop rates, increasing range of floor jumps further for neo nyzul etc.

HUGE post about readjusting elemental magic from the ground up in terms of tiers, INT correction, initial damage, maximum damage potential and MP efficiency. Gonna hold off for Slycer to translate this one since it's very ambiguous. So far, from what I can tell, they're buffing up all Elemental magic across the board but at the same time they're making all elements within a tier have the same power i.e Stone V and Thunder V would have the same base damage, this encourages better use of strategy of opponent's weakness instead of THUNDER ALL THE THINGS, also gives more flexibility for BLM Tier1 merits. And if this is the case, have fun finishing your magian staves.

Got the backwards on the LR/DB. They are thinking of making LR 15% and 5/5 Desperate 10% actually. So yeah, SAM/DRK will be capping JA haste during LR in that case (provided it isn't nuked on sub) though I'm not sure if that makes it beat /WAR

I actually really like this idea. I think it has the best of both worlds. It makes it so I can be any job I want and not be crippled by the loss of an important WS, but it also allows for their desire for people to have "specialized" jobs with 5/5 WSs.

If I'm not mistaken, something along the lines of:
    1) We're considering messing with 1H level correction to remove the disparity between 2H and 1H weapons?
    2) Adjusting Desperate Blows / Last Resort - Going to have to wait on Slycer's translation on this one. He's either proposing a massive nerf or making DRK more useful subbed
    3) Defense adjustments - Again, google translate is opaque
    4) Merit WSs - Looks like he's proposing adjusting it so level 1 of a merit WS is 65% stat mod and level 5 is still 85% (they don't use alpha). I think he's proposing this instead of raising the category cap?
    5) Elemental magic - They're proposing changing M for all the tiers. (T1:1.5; T2:2.5; T3:3.5; T4:4.5; T5:5.5) - They also provided D values for all the spells, which matched Mougu's values.
    6) More Elemental Magic - They're also reducing MP cost (by and large) and dramatically reducing recast and casting time. Overall these changes seem to favor lower tier spells.
    7) Event specific changes - Longer jumps in Neo-NI, Reducing monster level in Legion (and their defense/attack?), reducing Odin v2's level, Allowing you to cluster Prov watcher, Increasing Bhaflau v1 pop rates and 35 drop rates overall, reducing WoE monster level, removing EX tag from coins, adding . . . coin pouches?

He says they're still thinking about Enmity and TP.

The magic changes are probably going to have far-reaching consequences. Buy your geodes now.

    1) Pretty much that. One idea he threw out was to have a new merit that adjusts your ratio on your main hand slot.
    2) Correct on the second. He is saying that because gear and magic haste caps are easily reached by every other job, it may be fair to have DRK become more useful subbed by providing a great amount of JA haste (while keeping an attack buff from loss of berserk) in order to even the playing field in that regard.
    3) I believe he's talking about setting more easily defined thresholds (tiers) of defense where you will see significant improvements to damage reduction. For example, a merit that makes defense cut damage. He says a side effect of this is that it'll make DDs throwing up berserk far more dangerous.
    4) Yep
5,6) Essentially it looks like they want to make it so that a well-geared BLM will be able to deal about equal damage with the same tier of of spells so we arn't just using Thunder and Blizzard most of the time. Lower tiers will have bigger INT mods now, and higher MP efficiency. The casting times of lower tiers is reduced but a few of the higher ones are actually going to be increased.
    7) All right, just the last one is talking about pouches for devious die and liminal residue.

If they really make vanilla, subbed Last Resort give 15% JA haste, mark my words, jobs like NIN/DRK, MNK/DRK, THF/DRK and DNC/DRK will be beasts. Think of Last Resort now as a 3min Hasso with 5min recast that also gives +15% attack. It will make 1h jobs a lot crazier and especially MNK as well. Sure MNK loses 10% attack from losing berserk and 10% DA from switching to /DRK, but you'll get another attack bonus and freakin 3 minutes of 15% JA haste. SAM/DRK will be able to stack hasso and LR for 25% JA haste and make them beasts. I can see /DRK having huge potential almost like /SAM for 2h jobs due to the 15% JA haste. DNC with 5/5 haste samba and LR is gonna be nuts. ESPECIALLY coupled with them readjusting 1h jobs on endgame mobs via level correction, I can see 1h jobs competing with 2h jobs and possibly outdamaging them, mostly BLU/DRK and NIN/DRK.

In the end, every job update even if SAM isn't mentioned, somehow ends up benefiting SAM the most.

It's absurdly easy for Ninja to reach the haste cap without any JA haste (Currently the best 2x March build for NIN is 25% haste (Usu+1/Thaumas/Tenryu+1/Usu+1/Usu+1) with only suppa giving +DW), so /DRK might not actually be all that useful outside of low-man. Probably same thing for DNC, possibly THF and BLU depending on gear. It will definately change a lot of things, though.

MNK will depend on buffs. Since Arts counts towards total delay reduction, you don't need as much JA haste (I think Radec said you cap after 68%), so the benefit is minimal when capped (25+43.75 is actually capped haste then?). Meanwhile, an additional 10% attack bonus with adjusted cratio is good. Quite fitting this news would come now (Hint: XI). I think SAM can do this as well with Hasso enhancing pieces.

If you work it out, the changes actually favor lower tier spells in terms of DPS. Like, post-adjustment Tier 4 DPS is going to exceed Tier 5 DPS at reasonable levels of dINT. Considering that we have access to sources of huge casting time reduction now, it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. RDM might be back in business?

It is also interesting that he has the discrepancies in Tier 5 M that Mougu found.

How about for BLU/DRK with DWIII with standard 4/5 thaumas build and animated wail? Also the problem with RDM is that outside of Abyssea, our MP is crap. Seriously, unless I'm /SCH, I'm out of MP in like 4 Tier IV nukes unless I strategem them up, though if they're reducing MP cost, that would help. Also a problem for RDM is we basically need /SCH anyway for Arts because our skill, and by extension, our acc is shit unless in Abyssea or on Fodder. This will make SCH more aggressive though since they're so MP efficient already, plus they can further boost damage of their spells with Ebuillence, might give BLM a run for their money.

It will be just like the year before the 2-handed adjustment (2007?). Then for a short while dual-wielder/1 handers will be seen as king. Then they will analyze the complaints sure to come and re-adjust things to barrance them out. Then 3 years from now it will be like 2012 again where 5 one handed jobs are complaining about not being the top damage dealers (but leaving out that they can cast blue magic, or do dance steps, or evade and treasure hunter, or something else that pure DD can't do.) And the cycle will go on and on.

But you're right. SAM will continue to benefit - possibly without ever being mentioned!

Another 10% JA Haste would be very useful for DNC in low buff situations (like with just Haste spell). We'd have 60% Haste and 48% Dual Wield, which puts us at 20.8% delay. One March would let us swap all of our DW gear out, but it might actually be smarter to just eat double minuets.

I think Byrth mentioned on an FFXIAH post that if they adjusted the level correction for 1h that they'd rank pretty close to WAR or DRK in Legion in similarly buffed situations. So instead of hitting for 50's with your sword, if you were hitting for 110-130 fully buffed, shit just got real considering the attack speed of 1h jobs w/dual wield and craptons of DA/TA/QA from thaumas/traits. And yes, even if SAM is never mentioned, every job update benefits them, man they'll even get to tack on Souleater and shit and they'll have a sizable portion of MP to stun shit and also Weapon Bash. 3 forms of stun if they put a merit into Blade Bash.

I don't think I said that, but level correction has been a major factor keeping 1H jobs out of endgame.
