The wording there seems a lot different from Slycer's post with regards to the one-handed adjustments. Also lends itself more to fucking over MNK.

official translation has dashed a bit of my hope
As has been mentioned, food and other choices are quite limited due to the fact that status modifiers are far greater for two-handed weapons and there is a higher need for accuracy when using single-handed weapons.
For example, we are currently looking into the possibility of adding some form of merit that would enhance the modifiers for the single-handed weapon main weapon slot.
This makes me believe they aren't touching level correction at all, just adding some parameter that will let 1hs get more out of STR and DEX... on only the main hand. Thanks SE?
Regardless, I haven't been this interested in a dev tracker note in freaking months. All they need to do next is announce their plans for fixing the emnity system, and a timeframe for both discussions to be implemented.
Going to suck if this all occurs on or after SoA's launch, cause I want a reason to resubscribe prior to SoA's release.
As far as magic damage is concerned, I read the chart as each element in their respective Tiers have their own decreasing M value.
For instance, Tier 5 spells starting with Stone V have an M value of 5.5 and it decreases by 0.3 by each spell with Thunder having a 4.0 M
Tier IV spells starting with Stone IV start off 1 point less at 4.5 and decreases at a rate of 0.25 for each spell. I could be wrong but just at quick glance that's what it looks like to me. This would mean that changing your INT will have far greater effects when this is implemented.

I wouldn't lose all hope yet, given how open-ended the information for the 1H adjustments are worded ("We might do this, we're thinking of doing this, etc")
Yup. I tried this once several years ago, a friend and I were helping someone get Rev Mail I think. Friend was on his kclub DRK, I came along MNK/DRK, and we had a RDM there that was supposed to CS cure me. Unfortunately the RDM CS cured himself instead, and I died in about three seconds, haha.
Nevermind. I must have seen some people give bad tests previously.
For the magic changes, specifically speaking about the vastly increased MP efficiency of spells, and from the perspective of a SCH, all I can say is:

Well, not when chain-casting low tier spells, but now there's even less reasons than before to Parsimony or Alacrity spells. Actually, chain-casting Stone II while tossing an Ebullienced Stone V when stratagems are available seems like a pretty effective nuking strategy, from a pure DoT perspective, and not worrying about enmity.
On the other hand, UGHHHH... Making more magian staves? Not looking forward to it.
Of course will you really need to go with the more efficient spells after this? I mean mp cost/recast of all spells has gone down and dmg up and stronger elements will still be best dmg/time.
For kicks, made some near ideal sets and adjusted them vs each other for new elemental stone3 to thunder5 dmg

Spoiler: show
vs target with 80 int. MDB/MDT/etc all assumed to be 0 as it would reduce all lines equally.

For T3's, 2nd set is always better/equal
For T4's, 2nd set until aero4, equal at Fire4, first set for thunder/blizz4
For T5's, 2nd set for stone5, equal at water5, first set for aero/fire/blizz/thunder
w/ Laev, the int based set is always better.
I had initially expected the INT sets to do well even in the T5 range, with M's over 5, but looks like I'll be carrying 2 sets given the current numbers.
I feel like SCH has too much gear to devote inventory to more than one piece in each slot to nuking, especially if you have an accumulation of magian staves. I'll probably settle on some optimized hybrid of the two sets and deal with that. I'm generally at like 77/80 with just gear, so three slots for meds/food/lotting shit is already almost impossible to deal with.
Would be cool if they buffed Helixes up as well.
