That seems to be what they're suggesting, and I have no idea how it would be useful for most of the 1H jobs in 99% of situations.

Either way they at least need to up the attack values. Give dex a smaller attack mod. No one wants to dual wield and plink the enemy for 5-10 damage and at the same time feed it all that tp. I would also add an attack bonus to Fencer trait and give it to prettymuch all jobs that would consider one handing. Rdm Pld Whm Dnc Blu Thf. You know what, just make fencer a passive for single wielding and swap out the crit rate for a significant attack bonus.
So basically in any high buff/high end content situation where you are likely to be really benefiting from the accuracy boost you will likely also be at capped magic haste, which unless you're a dnc or in party with one will hurt you even more if you choose to single wield
Obviously the attack will be useful for the majority of stuff though.
It still blows my mind that single wielding is the best option for a dnc mythic still. If there ever was a sign that dual wield jobs need some sort of buff it was that.
They should do some crazy shit like make fStr (Str vs Vit) fDex (Dex vs Vit) instead, and make it so instead of str giving attack, dex does instead (as well as accuracy and crit rate).
That's really not actually very far fetched if you consider a wealth of other RPGs (mostly D&D based) where the equivalent of DEX is used instead of the equivalent of STR in calulating damage for small weapons.
Wonder what that would do for 1handers (if anything) apart from nerfing Mercy Stroke and buffing Rudra's, Sneak Attack and CDC.
If they actually did that I think I'd change my merits from Str/Agi to Dex/Agi
It's mostly due to how far ahead of our other options AM3-active Terpsichore is combined with the fact that DNC can hit 78.5% Haste solo. When you ditch Dual Wield on DNC, your DPS increases because AM3 Terpsi is >10% higher DPS than any other dagger and you lose <10% DPS by dropping from 80% delay reduction to 78.5%. Combine that with much higher TP gain (because you aren't losing TP to Dual Wield anymore and you have AM3 on every swing) and the only thing you have to offset is the loss of your offhand on WS and loss of stat boosts from the offhand (20 DEX in my case). /WAR also gives Fencer and you can use your sub slot for Airy Buckler if you can find one.
Wait how can dnc reach 78.5% haste solo?
Doh, yeah. I meant "single wielding" instead of "solo."
I was really impressed at DNC, for a moment O_O
Tossing around some minor math, I get the DPS being almost identical to my current Terpsichore/Twashtar build at the delay cap (183 at 80% reduction vs. 181 at 78.5% Haste before pDIF/crits/etc.) and the TP gain of single wielding Terpsichore to be ~30% higher (including minor gear swaps to accommodate its OA2-3). The extra 25 TP Bonus from /WAR would help Evisceration a little (+2.5% crit rate on average) and the Crit rate boost of Fencer (however that works) would also be in effect, so the DPS would be a little higher than what I'm finding. The penalty for not using Saber Dance when /WAR with this setup is miniscule (183 -> 181.7 DPS, -<1% TP gain).
Looks like I need to figure out how Fencer's crit rate boost really works!
I hope the JPs start asking when the next update is going to be. It's been a month since the delay happened on the MB side.
should we get an update? that next expansion pack is 2 months away. Its been to long from the last time I dealt with one being so close to when an update should come. Do they normally skip an update for that?
Updates used to be bimonthly back during CoP/ToA and the expansion just slotted in for its appropriate month I believe. Can't remember the story with WoTG since they moved to tri-monthly update windows (hence-why it took over 3 years for them to finish the fucking story for that expansion).
Last year it's been an update a month, so not sure how things will differ. I would still expect them to deploy an update any week now just to plug some holes/more prep data for our clients come the expansion.
Well, the new 2 hours are good to go apparently so we really should get them asap. I also hoped that the Play as a Monster would be implemented before SoA. That should make a pretty nice update to keep us happy for two+ months.
The previous update was supposed to contain the second part of Meeble Burrows (the Batallia expansion). Based on the December update notes, it was delayed for one month, which would have put its release last week. The items are already in the game and the infrastructure is there to support it as well (they changed the warp menus to specify Sauromugue Champaign rather than just "head to the burrows," for instance, and all of the old KIs and some other dialog texts now specify Sauromugue Champaign rather than being non-specific). The items are already in the game, just waiting for implementation of the new expeditions.
Basically, I wouldn't call it a full-fledged update, more like the completion of the December one. I don't think there will be another update between now and SoA aside from the preparatory update which loads SoA content (new items, jobs/spells/abilities, etc.) to people who don't buy the expansion.
Play as a Monster seems to be something that will launch with Adoulin considering how little we've got on it.
We're not getting anything. Obviously we're meant to just do Salvage and horde Alex in preparation to make Mythic bells for our Geomancers.
I just want my Farmville Mog House.
Would you like some Celery Seeds? Well, go beat an HNM for some dummy.
