    Dual Wield (10/7)
We had discussed making it so that surplus dual wield would not affect your TP gain, but we found that this adjustment was difficult to make on a technical level. Furthermore, we felt this adjustment would not have changed much for players who would swap armor based on the amount of haste they were receiving, and for this reason we set Daken's proc rate to be high. We hope players try out Daken for a little while before giving us further feedback.
Currently, we have no plans on adjusting Ninja's Artifact or Relic armor. While the dual wield+ stats may become disadvantageous in a group setting, removing these stats would make them less useful in a solo situation. In the future, we wish to make it easier for players to adjust their dual wield value through equipment choices.

    Avatar's Favor (10/7)
In the version update today, we have adjusted the weakening of the Avatar through the use of Avatar's Favor. We are planning to adjust the effects of Avatar's Favor in the November update. Amongst these adjustments, we are discussing ways to make the ability easier to use. Of these, the reduction of potency through blood pact use was discussed, however there is no solid plan yet, so we will tell you on the forums as soon as we can go into specifics.

    Daken (10/14)
    Good evening.
We have confirmed a glitch where ★Trial by Earth was only dropping 1 Togakushi Shuriken. Our original intent was for this to drop Toga Shuriken Pouch. We will try to fix this soon. We apologize for any inconvenience, but please wait for a little bit.
We have no way to replace the singles players have obtained with pouches, and we have no plans to compensate for this. We are sorry for this, but we hope you can understand.
There is also a glitch involving the Unwavering Ironclad in Ra'Kaznar Skirmish and its use of abilities if you fight it while using Daken. We plan on fixing this in November. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Mog Gardens (10/14)
Because of system-related issues, we can't remove the screen blacking when you extend the employment of your assistants. There have been requests of hiring all 3 assistants at once, and we will look into the possibility of this. We have other plans in store for Mog Garden at the moment, so we can't give a solid date for an adjustment like this, but I hope you look forward to future version updates.

    Avatar's Favor (10/14)
As we mentioned earlier, Avatar's Favor is planned for further adjustments in November. We are currently discussing that for this adjustment, instead of the effect of Avatar's Favor going down when you use a Blood Pact, the opposite will happen, and it will become stronger upon the use of a Blood Pact. (With the increase being determined by the MP you spend on the Blood Pact)
Please wait for the November Update to come.

    Furniture (10/17)
Will there be special furniture at the end of the Adoulin Missions?
We cannot go into specifics right now, but as we have shared in the past, we plan on adding new furniture moving forward, including Adoulin-style furniture. Please look forward to future updates.

    Trust Haste (10/17)
We understand some players have issues with Trusts like Koru-Moru and Karuha-Baruha using haste only on front line jobs. Our thought when creating these Trusts is that we wanted them to be useful in many situations. If you had Trusts that could cast haste on all jobs, it would almost constantly be casting haste if you had a full 6 man party.
We understand that there are situations where back line jobs will also need haste however, so we will consider creating a new Trust in the future who will cast Haste on party members regardless of their job.

Phantom Gem Merit Point Cost (10/24)
In the November update, we are thinking of reducing the merit point cost of the Phantom Gems for Head Wind and Shadow Lord. When we adjust these costs, we take into consideration congestion and the value of the equipment that can be obtained.

    One-Handed Weapon Skill Damage (10/24)
As some players have pointed out, due to the difference in D values on one-handed and two-handed weapons, the weapon skill damage out of one-handed weapons and hand-to-hand weapons are much weaker. With that in consideration, we wish to adjust it so that one-hander and hand-to-hand weapons can make up for this difference through higher autoattack damage.
Weapon skill damage must be adjusted while considering how enemies much higher level than the player will not be affected simply be D values, but also attack, accuracy, critical hit rate etc.
With the above in consideration, we currently have no plans to greatly increase one-hander weapon skill damage as some players have asked, but because we wish to see events be open to various jobs, we will continue adjustments.

    Macros (10/24)
Do you think you could add a /wait 0.5? That would make spell macros much easier.
We have a policy of wanting to keep macros from being able to perform precise actions automatically for players. Our reasoning is that you are able to macro every small action, they will be absolutely required for play, and this is something we wish to avoid.
I don't believe it is technically impossible, and if it does lead to greater convenience for many players we don't see any harm in discussing it. However, even if we change our policy, we should note that because of the high load and communication frequency that occur while playing content, the macro may not perform as accurately as players may wish for them to.
We wish to verify these details before we proceed further, so please give us some time.

    Unity Concord

Unity Concord is a new system devised and promulgated by the Adventurers’ Mutual Aid Network (A.M.A.N.) Pleased with the rousing success of the recently introduced Records of Eminence, A.M.A.N. has pledged to build upon their successes and take the next step toward bringing adventurers closer together.

    Unities: New NPC-Run Factions
The main attractions of Unity Concord are organizations known as “Unities.” There are multiple Unities, each run by one of Vana’diel’s more popular personages. Players are able to select a Unity they would like to join to further that leader’s cause.

    Participating in a Unity
A.M.A.N. guides serve as intermediaries for welcoming willing adventurers into a Unity’s fold. Though a player may only belong to one Unity at a time, it is possible to switch partway. However, players are unable to change their Unity until at least twenty-four hours (Earth time) have passed after joining.

    Unity Chat
Chat channels unique to each Unity have been set up to foster communication between unity members, enabling them not only to meet up with each other easier, but also to help them make new friends.

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/at...397226&thumb=1

    Unity Objectives
New Records of Eminence objectives will be added to help facilitate Unity activities. Some of these objectives are shared between Unities, while others are exclusive. There is also a third type of objective, called “Wanted” objectives, which task a player with vanquishing specific notorious monsters.

    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/at...396945&thumb=1

    Wanted Battles
Monsters vanquished during the course of Wanted battles provide the victors with equipment and other precious rewards. Participating in such battles comes at a cost, however—a currency known as Unity accolades.

    Unity Accolades
Accolades can be earned by completing Unity-based Records of Eminence objectives. A small amount can be earned from non-Unity objectives and defeating certain monsters. The accolades can be used in a variety of ways, from participating in the Wanted battles described above to purchasing items, enhancing equipment found in Wanted battles, teleporting to Wanted battle staging areas, and more.

    Unity Rankings
Unity rankings are tabulated and made public once per week (Earth time), with the order being decided based on how many points a unity’s members have earned that week. At higher rankings, equipment earned from Wanted battles increases in strength, so gather Unity members together and aim for even greater heights.

    * Unity Concord is scheduled to have new systems and content added in subsequent version updates.

One-Handed Weapon Skill Damage Cont. (10/28)
Thank you for all your feedback.
Starting with the conclusion, after considering the damage over time of one-handed weapons, we have decided that we will consider raising the power of the high level weapon skills of these weapons.
When we had mentioned balancing in the earlier post, we did not mention that that statement was made under the assumption of a situation you are not receiving support such as from haste. We considered situations where players may still be low level or when they are not playing in parties, but also that players at high levels now often find themselves in parties with jobs such as Bards and Geomancers and very often hit the 80% delay reduction cap. With these, we concluded that it would be necessary to make adjustments.
However, one-handed jobs also possess unique abilities such as Treasure Hunter and Blue Magic as well, so we will consider such things as we plan for adjustments.
When we have worked out the details we will be sure to tell you on the forums, so please wait for a little while.

New Inside The Belly Fish (10/28)
While we had mentioned before that we were planning on making some large fish from Adoulin able to be used for the Inside the Belly quest, we have slightly changed those plans to instead add new large fish that can be used in the quest.
I cannot answer whether these new fish will require Dwarf Pugil or Drill Calamari at this time, but I can say that the rewards from these fish will be bragworthy for any proud fisherman.
This addition is a little ways off, but please look forward to future version updates.

    Chat Filters (10/28)
Can you do something about people using Incursion boxes in the chat log?
We are thinking of adding the chat filter "Item Use By Other Players".
With the Unity Concord system coming, we will be making several adjustments to the chat system over time.

    Unity Concord (10/28)
Think you for all your feedback regarding the Unity Concord system, I'll answer some of the questions players might have.

Will there be a chat filter?
There will be no chat filter, but there will be a main menu that allows you to choose whether or not to receive info about your Union, including chat. You can also participate in your Union without entering the chat.

    Can you withdraw from Unity?
At the moment this will not be an option. It will be easy to change between Unities and there will be no particular demerits to the player for not participating, so we have not added an option to withdraw entirely at this time.

Is there a limit to how many players can participate in a Unity?
There is no limit to how many people can join a Unity, however there is a limit to how many can participate in the chat. We are currently making adjustments to increase this maximum.

Won't people end up gathering into the same Unity?
The players in the top ranked Unity will have better values on parts of the items they obtain from Wanted, but players from lower ranking Unities will also have advantages such as it being easier to earn Unity Points.

Does this mean we won't be getting the option to wear more than 1 linkpearl now?
The previously announced adjustment to allow the wearing of more than one linkpearl is still in development. We put priority on a system that established a larger community than linkshells, and thus we created Unity Concord first.

Please wait a little longer for the November update to arrive.

    [dev1240] Linkshell Concierges

New NPCs known as Linkshell Concierges will be added.
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/at...741510&thumb=1

    Linkshell Concierges
Linkshell concierges are NPCs that match linkshells looking for players with players looking for linkshells. Any player with a linkshell or pearlsack may give linkpearls to the concierge to hand out. Players looking for a linkshell may then elect to receive one such linkpearl of their choosing.

    Linkshell Concierge Locations and Functions
Linkshell concierge locations and the style of linkshell they are in charge of are as follows.
    Code:
    Location Style
Western Adoulin (H-12)	Casual battle content
Western Adoulin (H-12)	Assisting each other
Eastern Adoulin (G-10)	Hard-core battle content
    Eastern Adoulin (G-10)	Everything
    Ru’Lude Gardens (G-9)	Hard-core battle content
Ru’Lude Gardens (G-9)	Assisting each other
Ru’Lude Gardens (G-9)	Synthesis and trading
Aht Urhgan Whitegate (H-9)	Vanquishing HNMs
    Southern San d’Oria (G-10)	Everything
Southern San d’Oria (G-10)	Meet new players
    Bastok Markets (F-9)	Everything
Bastok Markets (F-9)	Meet new players
    Windurst Woods (H-10)	Everything
Windurst Woods (H-10)	Meet new players
    * New styles and NPCs may be added after the November version update as needed.

    Distributing Linkpearls
Speak to a linkshell concierge while equipped with a linkpearl or pearlsack and select “I’d like to handout linkpearls.” Answer a brief questionnaire with the following information and pay a 500 gil fee to have the concierge distribute linkpearls for you.
    Language (JP, EN, other)
    Number of applicants desired (1-10)
Main days of activity (Weekdays, weekends, specific days, every day)
Time zone (JST, PST/PDT, GMT, no setting)
Main time of activity (morning, afternoon, evening, night, wee hours of the morning)

Additionally, equipping a linkpearl and pearl sack, selecting “show me recruiting linkshells,” and picking the corresponding linkshell from the list will cancel that particular registration.

    * A linkshell may only be registered once per concierge.
    * A particular concierge can only register up to sixteen linkshells at a time. New registrations will push existing ones off the list in order of oldest to newest.
    * Maintenance and area restarts will delete all registrations from the corresponding concierges.

    Receiving a Linkpearl
Speak to a linkshell concierge and select “Show me recruiting linkshells” to display a list available linkshells. Check the list of parameters the registrant has set and choose your desired linkshell.

    * Players may only receive one linkpearl per Vana’diel day.

Details on a new event for the Mandy items.

Sunshine Seeker, a celebratory event featuring the mandragora Babban Ny Mheillea, will make an appearance starting on November 10. Get your hands on some mandragora-themed outerwear, an alter ego of Babban Ny Mheillea, and much more before time runs out!

    Event Period:

    Monday, November 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. (PST) to Tuesday, November 25 at 6:00 a.m

    Getting Started

Chat up Babban Ny Mheillea in one of the following locations to collect your very own mandragora masque and mandragora suit, and don your new attire to hear an explanation about how the game works.

    Southern San d'Oria (I-8) / Bastok Mines (H-9) / Windurst Walls (H-11)

    Standing Under the Sun!

The goal of Sunshine Seekers is to collect as many shards of sunlight as you can in the time allotted. Players will be reduced to level one for the duration and an on-screen timer will start to tick down. Grab as many shards as you can within three minutes from the sparkles throughout the area.

But don't let your guard down! Some of Babban's most loyal friends-Abenzio, Bryher, Camlin, and Darach-are patrolling the area waiting to pounce on unsuspecting victims. If they catch you, the amount of time you have to collect shards may decrease-or you might even lose some you've already collected! Put those stealth skills to use by avoiding their watchful gaze.

When you're done collecting shards, bring them back to Babban Ny Mheillea, who will give you a number of small seeds corresponding to your efforts. These seeds can either be exchanged for items or traded in for a shot at Babban's grab bag. If you try the grab bag enough times, you'll get a chance at an even more special grab bag containing fabulous prizes!
    * Take care! You will lose all your shards if time runs out or if you leave the area.

    Adoulin Mission Reward (11/13, 11/14)
We understand that many players wish to possess multiple rings at once, but we wanted to have a tradeoff between only allowing players to have one ring and making the rings very powerful.
We currently have no plans to add other options for ring exchange. We had thought to use 30 HP Bayld, but since you can buy these from other players we decided against it. We wished for players to fulfill the requirements through their own play.
    -----
Yesterday we said the knockback reduction on Repulse Mantle and Vocane Ring do not stack, but after checking again we have confirmed they do, and this is intentional. We apologize for the incorrect info.
    -----
Currently we have no plans on changing how Quick Magic works. We understand that some players have issues with how it functions if they wish to change their equipment halfway through a cast, but we believe that since Quick Magic also makes recast 0 it is not a simple demerit to the spell.

    Skirmish Coffer Campaign (11/13)
We have double checked and this campaign is working as planned. It becomes more apparent when you use a higher level head, but we should note that this does not guarantee drops.

    Unity Objectives (11/13)
As Unity Objectives change with time, they are not counted in your total completed. If in the future we add new Eminence Objectives that require a certain number completed, we will not have any Unity Objectives as prerequisites.
Players also do not need to worry about using their storage characters for other Unities, as without obtaining 1000 Unity Points (+1 Evaluation), they will not be counted into the tally.

    Version Update Feedback (11/13)
We apologize for the maintenance in the wake of the November update.
We understand players may be frustrated by some glitches in the game, and we try to fix them in time, but some can be quite difficult to fix. If there are specific ones that players feel are especially bothersome, please let us know and we will make them a priority.
We try to keep to our monthly schedule of releasing patches, but if we determine that something cannot be released, we will postpone it. We cannot say what causes a glitch because it is different each time.
We had been working on how chat is displayed for several months now in preparation for some changes in the future, and this ended up affecting the linkshell system. We hope to continue improving our quality of service, however we do wish the players to understand that we do not purposefully rush out adjustments without adequate testing.
We apologize to players that were inconvenienced by the removal of the Mog Garden NPC while we worked to solve that bug. Because we believed that it would cause serious issues for players that made mistakes, we decided to simply remove the NPC while we worked on it, regardless of how many other players it may have inconvenienced, as it is not just a problem of how many people it would affect, but how severely.
We hope for more feedback from players regarding Unity and Linkshell chances. We want to enhance the community and the forums are part of this.
We thank players for their feedback of the Adoulin Missions. We plan on adding quests to further expand Adoulin, so please look forward to our developments.
Because we plan on adding more chat channels, after careful consideration we changed the UI for selecting chat channels that many players may be used to.

    Unity Concord (11/13, 11/14)
Unity chat member lists refresh when:
    1. You toggle Unity Chat on/off
    2. Changing Areas
    3. Logging in or out
We know some players are asking for your Unity leader to have some dialogue changes after you join them, so we will consider this for the future. We currently wish to focus on expanding the basic mechanisms and playable content.
Because when a Unity's chat is full we cannot connect more players to the chat server, we cannot make it so that players unable to participate can at least read the conversation. We are currently looking to adjust it so that the chat can have 128 people instead of 64.
Currently, players can know if they are in the Unity chat by checking if the Unity leader's name is white or grayed out after pressing Ctrl+U.

    Automaton Equipment Screen (11/13, 11/14)
We have changes this screen to allow for double digit display because we plan on upping the Automaton Elemental Capacity limits.
We will not be adding new Heads or Bodies for puppets. We are considering adding higher level attachments.
We are still making preparations, so please wait for a little bit.

    Beastmaster (11/14)
Here are some of the plans we have for Beastmaster.
Our overall vision is a damaging class with attacks from both the master and the pet.
We are planning on increasing the power of one-handed weapon skills in the December update. We had discussed adding an ability to enhance pet ability damage at the same time, but we have decided that a more radical change is required for pets, so we have temporarily postponed this idea.
We cannot give a solid plan right now, but we are discussing changing the abilities of pets summoned with Call Beast so that they are different from the abilities used by normal monsters This adjustment is planned to make it easier for us to adjust pet abilities while maintaining the strength of enemy monsters, and the abilities of these pets would not become weaker, so players need not worry.
We are also considering making the use of each jug pet more distinct.
It may take some time to implement all of these, and we will take into consideration player feedback as we move forward.

    Trusts (11/14)
We plan on changing Trust menu icons based on their role in December. We will also make it so that the Trust list will sort according to their role.

    One Hander Adjustments (11/27, 11/28)
The adjustments we are planning to make to accuracy will not apply to hand-to-hand, two-handed, ranged, or sub-slot weapons.
In addition to helping one-handers with accuracy, it will also help Dancers land steps easier. It will also apply to Violent Flourish's accuracy, however as before the stun effect will still be based on the Dancer's magic accuracy stat.
These adjustments will not affect physical blue magic spells.

    Gifts (11/28)
We thank the players for their feedback. We will be answering some questions.
The intent of adding magic accuracy bonuses for non-mage jobs was to enhance the accuracy of elemental weapon skills, as well as weapon skill and weapon added effects.
We will be continuing to add more bonuses in the future, and we are currently discussing added new spells and abilities to be unlocked through this system.
For the moment, we do not plan on balancing content with Gift bonuses in mind. Please think of these as bonuses to make content easier. We plan on making it easier to obtain capacity points moving forward. For example, you can increase your gain using items from Incursion, and we plan on adding bonuses through other content in the future.
The content that offer these bonuses will be more casual, and we wish to make it so that players will naturally gain capacity points over time as they play through a variety of content.
We will be adding the attribute "Superior" to certain crafted level 119 armor. Our thought is that in exchange for being available through auction house and bazaar, it will have an additional requirement. The items added in the December update will be relatively easy to synthesize, and will carry the "Su1" attribute. We wish to make it so that items marked as "Superior" will be one of the choices of 119 armor for players.

    Log Window (12/1)
You will be able to set filters for each windows as you wish. Details will come on the day of the update.

Rare/Ex Items as Unity Objectives (12/1)
We will be changing the Unity: Apururu objective for Two Leaf Mandragora Buds to something else in December. Please give us some time.

    Guardian of the Void (12/1)
While this varies with the player's job, a player can clear the Voidwatch NMs solo by using the displacer items from the NPC Ardrick at Jugner Forest (I-8). We have balanced it so that if players use displacers to weaken the voidwatch NMs, this quest should be clearable by solo players wearing ilevel 117 eminence armor.

    Gifts (12/1)
We have considered the possibility of allowing extra limit points become capacity points, but as we stated before, we first want to expand the system so that you can earn capacity points through a variety of content. We realize players feel they're wasting excess limit points, but we first wish to expand in this direction.
While we do consider job balance to be very important, we also wanted to add something that could affect adventuring for every player, which is why we decided to introduce the Gift system at the same time as various job adjustments in December. We will continue making adjustments to jobs moving forward.
As some players have asked, we want to confirm that Gifts are earned based on the total job points spent, rather than the total number of category levels earned. We believe the latter option would make it so that spreading job points between the categories would make it the easiest way to earn Gifts, and we would rather players invest job points in the way they want to.

    Etude II (12/4)
We are thinking of changing Etudes so that they don't decay over time. If we change this, we may also change the duration of the effect alongside it.
We are also discussing changing absorb spells that have a similar effect.

    Dangers for Melee Jobs (12/4)
Melee classes are less useful in events such as WoE and WKR due to incredibly powerful AoE skills or doom effects. Everyone ends up using jobs like RNG, SMN, and BLM. Can you please adjust this?
We do want to adjust Surge Walks so that it can be welcoming to a variety of jobs, and be attractive to casual play. We had adjusted some skills of monsters in Walk of Echoes in September, but we are discussing further changes to powerful enemy skills. For example, we may extend the cast time of some skills to make it easier to avoid for melee jobs, or adjust the magic accuracy of monsters so that additional effects are not guaranteed.
For Wildskeeper Reives, however, we have set it so that some special effects can be removed when certain conditions are met, and thus we have no plans to adjust that.

    Elemental Weapon Skills (12/4)
Our adjustments for this patch is to address the gap between one-handed and two-handed weapons. Elemental weapon skills do not vary based on the D value on weapons, and if we adjust these it will be for all weapons.
Currently in regards to individual jobs, we have a priority on adjusting pets and magic. If we adjust elemental weapon skills, it will be after adjustments to these aspects of the game.

    Job Points (12/4)
We had designed Job Points as a way for jobs to level up after you have reached level 99, and thus we currently have no plans on making them similar to Merits where you can obtain them on any job. We want players to become stronger as they play a certain job more, so we ask if players feel there is something missing from the system they continue to give us feedback.
We will continue adjusting jobs to address the issues of their effectiveness in party play, and as we mentioned before, we will continue to add content where capacity points can be gained through relatively casual play.
For example, Incursion has been set as high difficulty content. but monsters other than NMs have been given lower levels than the content level, and capacity points do not decrease much with a large number of players. This is to encourage players to bring jobs they enjoy playing to obtain capacity points and mantles in a more casual setting.

In the future we are planning to add an even higher tier version of the Armor Plate attachment. Additionally, we’ll be making adjustments so that Stormwaker automatons cast protect and shell on themselves.

We’ll be adding new attachments that enhance accuracy. In regards to increasing melee skill through equipment and merit points, but there being no change in attack or accuracy, this is a bug and we will be fixing it in the January version update. Likewise, we will be fixing the current issues with the Attuner and Target Marker attachments in the January version update as well.

    Blue Magic QoL (12/10)
We may discuss changes to how set blue magic is removed upon entering level capped areas in the future. Currently prioritized system changes are chat-related functions and the full implementation of the lockstyle function.
As for the possibility of saved blue magic sets, we have found that there are some technical challenges for implementing such a feature, so we currently have no plans for it.

    Grab Bag (12/10)
The Makel-Pakel's Grab Bag Item is different from the Velkk Chests obtained from Incursion in that it will always dispense a mantle. Because of the rarity of these items, we decided to make it so that it cannot be sent within an account.
Think of it as a test of your luck with the New Year coming around. We wish fortune to you!

    Elemental Accessories (12/10)
With the weapon skill adjustment, we think it is time, and we will discuss a way to combine elemental gorgets, belts, obis, etc.

    Incursion (12/10)
We understand that players may be frustrated with losing their key items upon completing Incursion, but the loss of these items is an intended part of the design. The NPC "Grrk-Frut the Charlatan", as his name suggests, is a fraud. He adapts a facade of helping the players, when in fact he is placing a curse on them, increasing the level of the Incursion content.
Because we think this might've been difficult to understand before, we have changed the quote displayed when players clear the level 143 Incursion content.
In regards to combat balance, "Saurian Slide" is a frontal cone AoE and "Velkkan Pygmachia" can have the number of dispelled effects reduced by Utsusemi, so we currently have no plans to adjust them. When we adjust enemy special moves, we tend to focus on ones where the players have no way to mitigate them.
