This episode...
the ending..
Spoiler: show
Wow what a cocktease. I seriously thought they were gonna show lol![]()
The 50 second summary was great
Id let Victoria be my Lagen Flaben Shigenschact anyday
This show is so god damn predictable with the season opener/season closer cliffhangers.
I bet at the end of season 8 he won't even have met her on that train and it'll just be a "missed connection."
Troll ass ending, fuck this game, etc.
Decent ep though.
I liked Barney's season recap and the end scene... other than that, just an okay episode.
Anyone else getting annoyed with these cliffhanger open/closes?
Liked it, just sad next monday is far
Hrmmm.. I wonder if this means they've cast the mother?
Spoiler: show
Tbh even without the ending of S7 and start of S8 there's no way Barney would've stayed with Quinn for long
Quinn was just for the bait and switch in the S7 finale; time to get her off the pay roll. The past few seasons have felt more like Barney's show than Ted's, lol. Nora, Quinn, the heavy focus on the Robin dynamic have all put the spotlight on Barney. I've pretty much lost interest in Ted's story because we know anyone he meets is just a filler.
IT'S CORNFLOWER BLUE!
I do admit that everyone is moving forward in their lives eept Ted atm
Barney getting married( maybe)
Lily and Marshall enjoying parents life
Ted is just not moving at all atm
Jennifer Birmingham credited as "Woman" on IMDB.

Could this be the mother? Obviously they wouldn't credit her as such but I don't remember seeing her anywhere else in the episode.
But it's been that way for a while now.. Even with season 6 with Zoey, it was impossible to care about her and anything that happened between her and Ted since we knew she wasn't the mother.
I still enjoy the show, but it's mostly because of the other characters, not Ted. Personally, I think the creators forgot the interesting thing about Ted was whether any of his relationships was with the mother. With Victoria in the first season, there was the mystery of was she the mother or not. Robin didn't have that, but the show was still fresh and had other things going on (Marshal and Lily's separation, etc). With Stella, it was the same idea that she could be the mother so there was reason to be invested in and actually care whether they worked out or not.
Especially when you take the show as the evolution of people in their mid-late twenties to early thirties, and how the other characters have developed, Ted can't really move forward unless he meets her. Now that they've established a few things, everything until then is just pointless. Sure, there might be minor things like him buying the house, but there's only so much that he can do without meeting the mother.
They been talking bout a season 9 maybe just hoping that he meets her in 8 and show the relationship or something in 9

talks a lot about plan for the season/how it will change if season 9 happens, etc, so consider it somewhat spoilery
That article's awesome.
Best thing they could have done. If there's a season 9 let it be a flash forward or flash back who the fuck cares at this point. Just make season 8 worth it, which is sounds like they want to."We wanted the season premiere to feel momentous because this could be the beginning of the last chapter," Thomas tells TVGuide.com. "There are negotiations happening, but I don't know how that's gonna go and I don't know when I'll know if there'll be a Season 9. Carter [Bays] and I are really writing the season as if it's the last season and this is how we would start it."
