This episode was hilarious. I was laughing right from the start with the Captain's voicemail. Also I love this kind of episode format where they have something replayed with different perspectives.

I thought it was a great episode. The fact that character advancement was lacking means close to nothing, it's been that way this entire season.
Barney was great trying to insert himself into the story.

I gotta admit Smashed Ted & Robin were hilarious and since we got to see a little progression with lily it was good. But there's no way barney wasn't involved in that awesome evening.

But that's the thing ... didn't the ending confirm that he WAS indeed there after all? Sure, all episode long it was clear he was inserting himself arbitratily, but then didn't the Captain mention his art consultant hooked up with "an Archduke" at the party? Which is exactly the play that Barney eventually decided he pulled that night "Archduke of Fenwick".

Acting like that isnt every episode of the show. Its all humor for 22min with the last 2 for character development.

That's the whole point, he really was there but no one was aware of it because Ted was so high and Robin was drunk. Barney himself forgot, which is what made it so funny because he desperately tried inserting himself into the situation anyways. It was really subtle but the scene you mentioned with the Captain pointed out that his consultant went home with an "Archduke she met".

I think the joke was the writers sorta confirming what Barney said. He is an Enigma who can't seem to NOT be around when something awesome happens ... its just his thing.

Anybody notice when Marshall was asking the first TMNT guy for a high five, he was holding the skittles in his other hand. Then it cut and he was holding out the skittles hand and the skittles were nowhere to be seen.

Best episode of the season, IMO, in terms of laugh factor. Was a bad time to eat dinner because I was laughing so hard.

The whole skittles incident was pretty funny, i thought the whole loch ness monster play was better though.

Maybe i'm biased because i'm scottish.

After last week's ending about the play Barney had with Art Buyer, I was thinking to myself, I would gladly watch a 30 minute show that was just 3 plays from the playbook explained.

I enjoyed seeing a few of the ones that are in the book.

I really enjoyed the Scuba episode for that reason. Most of the episode was dedicated to one of his plays.
