Version Update: Multiple Crashes?

Maint seemed to do jack shit to fix the random crashes, already on my second crash in dyna basty already, gj S/E!

EDIT: got 6-8 crashes in dynamis bastok alone since maint, ended up wiping mid run cause the game did back to back crashes, so i'm done playing until they fix this, cause this is bs.

Sheesh, weird priorities then. they may of just got the people stuck in their mh's thing. I haven't crashed yet but I haven't been doing a lot. Just a Meebles run and then started working Skif's gp.

[Edit] Also this just occurred to me. What op systems are people using? Windows XP here. Maybe we can report this more exactly if we have that.

Same, no crashes but not doing much yet.

Any idea if non-windower players are crashing? 360? PS2?

Well, I don't use windower (only official windowed mode) on Windows XP and haven't crashed yet *knocks on wood*

I'm wondering if this might be operating system related, if there's a connection; XP isn't too common anymore.

[Edit] Also another idea someone on FFXI AH had; it's something related to the new collision dectection thing. Person crashed after he stood there a minute and scrolled though his inventory; Can we confirm that people?

[Second edit] Ok, just used the AH to look up and put up a threw bomblet; no crash then either. Could it be a certain version of the client is crashing and the collision dectection?

I'm running Windower, no spellcast or anything fancy. Windows7.

I've crashed a couple times while browsing through the AH and my inventory/locker, and once in a LaTheine worm party as soon as I engaged the first mob. I also noticed before I left town that my Great Katana's icon in the equipment menu was very strange, kinda warped sideways, if you will. Zoning fixed that issue, no idea if it's related to the crashes. I stopped playing because I got so frustrated at it. =\

Hmm. Another theory I've heard batted around is it's some piece of gear the person has in their bag. I mostly play MAGE jobs with a little bst and THF (tho I don't have anything fancy like a toci's; mostly all gear from Abyssea). Aedrin told me the ones who kept crashing were all SAMs. A friend of mine who plays THF was crashing last night too. Theory; it's some "All Jobs" piece(or pieces) of gear that some SAMs might use.

It won't be easy since like, that doesn't narrow it down much but maybe if people can experiment (I suggest someone who also has a PS2 and the PS2 version so they can get rid of such gear until you find the offending piece or pieces) but maybe we can zero in on it. It may be the fact I don't play melee jobs very much is why I've been spared.

Cant be that, I casted multiple paralynas before I crashed (buffalo then cerb boss in t3). If it were a piece of gear, it would be consistent, no?

Unless you're implying its seeing someone with a piece of gear equipped, but I play with BMN on all my characters...no one blinks, ever. However, for what its worth, the 2 chars I play on my pc have yet to crash, and my laptop character has crashed 3x.

I thought it was strange I got a temp item box in abyssea last night that had a Twilight belt in it, said it was the pax drink. Also my WHM alt crashed 6 times and I crashed once.(Windows7+Windower)

Just crashed while scrolling through my inventory In Saur, just outside Jeuno.

Now I just went and popped a Glavoid. I engaged on my THF and went to turn around for tp move. On my screen I was turned away but I was still attacking it, no damage in the chat log showing though. Hit disengage, still attacking it. On my alt's screen I was disengaged just standing there. But I was healing it during tp move. Had to /terminate. They really fucked something up.
