That's technically an average damage increase of 13~15% for less than the 10-12% HP cost of Souleater, obviously making the effect superior to Souleater and far better than the original Additional Effect: Souleater. Wow... SE actually making things better before release instead of worse o_0

Q: YOu said it drained 50~90 HP, what was your HP at the time?

Was about 1600 or so as /Thf testing with Crits in Ronfaure to see if the effect was active. From what I noticed, during crits it'd take off 90 pretty consistently, then only take off 50 or so with a non-crit. Had a Scholar with me to keep my HP up when I was doing the testing at first, and crits consistently took off nearly 90 HP and non-crits took off less.

In case anyone did not know yet, as I do not remember it being mentioned and it has a "needs verification" tag on the page, Assistant Expedition 3, the dont touch meeble requirement for level 3 win must mean dont kill it. We agroed it by accident, tried to sleep it (very resistant, but not immune) and even hit it a couple times taking it to around 85% hp, and still got the level 3 win. He did not hit very hard, at least not hard enough to worry about with phalanx and regen 5 up.

Also, for associate researcher 1, we were unable to get the rock guy in the first room to agro/pop. The guys who found the one on the bottom level claim that the one they fought seemed to have dropped out of the sky, so it may be that the one that was supposed to be in the top room did not spawn correctly or something. No idea. All I know is we spent 7 minutes looking in both rooms at the end and ended up warping out. Was annoying.

Decent probability of HP drain being affected by damage done rather than maximum or current HP then.

There's a SS of it dropping from Umagrhk (along with Orunmila's Torque) somewhere in the Test Server Findings thread. I'm sure he has other drops too, but that's the one loot pool of his that was posted.

As far as I can tell, the only two obviously new models for anything they added are Akasha Chaps and Matanca Harness. Everything else looks reused. Some of the gloves might be new, but I don't think so.

Alcedo Cuisses are also new (as are the hands), and there's one other unknown legs item in my Altanaviewer list (282/0 on Mithra). Not sure what that one corresponds to, but since it doesn't match up with any of the datmined items I'd guess Briscard Cuisses.

Thought Briscard had the same icon as Inmicus Cuisses but I went back and checked and they're slightly different.

Edit: They have the same icon as Aurum Cuisses actually, are they the same model too?

Also, we basically knew already, but Gusterion was confirmed as a Dreyruk drop on the JP Wiki. Sadly, there's no information yet about how the additional effect works, but I'll keep an eye out.

Has anyone done Surtr yet? Getting ready to burn my tags later today, and I want to know people's experience on it. Like how bad is the HP down, how strong is the Meteor, etc.

...you'll see that we've mostly filled out the items' sources. I think it's a safe bet that we have the full drop lists for Goldwing, Silagilith, Surtr, and Dreyruk now recorded. Samursk certainly drops something besides the scythes (likely two other drops), and I'm sure Umagrhk also has at least 1-2 other drops besides the torque and subligar. The remaining drops, then, would be associated with the "total completion rewards" category of research marks items, which as of right now is a totally complete mystery, but likely involves the completion of goal 3 on each expedition, so we should probably see some information on it within a week or so.

The items that are missing drop locations are:

Grandoyne's Mail

Matanca Harness
Seidr Cotehardie

The Max HP down is not very strong, -25~33% I think. Meteor is the only spell he tries to cast under 25% (no more Silencega / Sleepga / AoE Comet), does around 1k damage with Shell but very easy to Stun. He can also use 2 or 3 TP moves back to back but the fight itself is not hard at all.

Tried it with 2 Bsts and a Whm just to get an idea.

Got it down to around 30% or so but I personally was dead and/or without a pet for a majority of the fight. Just got unlucky with a TP move that 1-shotted me off the bat.
Not sure if you can duo it with pets only…that extra melee damage from the Bsts helps. Throwing a 3rd or 4th pet in there should make it pretty simple.

We didn’t get hit with Meteor but probably because we didn’t get it low enough.

His damage on my pet didn’t seem too crazy while I was alive. Nothing a good reward set and Eta/Theta couldn’t keep up with.

Akasha Chaps (the crazy nuke pants) have been recorded as a drop from Samursk, the researcher 5 boss. Byrth has already added to BG Wiki.

for what its worth, since I dont think it was posted. Storing a grimoire on the NPC wont give you 5+1, as per some people posting having the NPC say they have 5 in stock.

Confirming the above, even if you trade early you can only store 4+1, so there's no reason to go out there earlier in the week to get an extra sack.

In other words, they lied in the patch notes. Seriously, SE? Christ.

Went into the Gallu fight last night with SAM/MNK/MNK/THF/SMN/SCH. 85 masa, 2 99 vere's, 99mandau/99twat. Sam and one of the monks were immediately booted, leaving one mnk, thf, smn, sch.

Fully buffed to give it a shot anyway and took the gallu down to 50% before PD wore off, at which point he started doing what Gallus do best and would randomly donkey punch for relativley high damage. I died on monk, along with the thf (chainspell is pretty rough even with a great MDT set+shellV+Embrava+RegenV); was using Eihwaz/Shadow ring to see how they did against his deathga, but he never ended up casting it so no info regarding resist successes/failures. He was incredibly easy to hold/kite though with the SMN using ramuh, and the SCH just generally running circles around the gallu; he really moves quite slowly.

Ended up killing it with just the four people with a minute left; NQ scythe, a scroll of temper, icarus wing, and log as our glorious rewards.
