I'm not sure if it's fixed. We've currently all been using bonus to spoils grimoires on the boss and it's worked 100%. The only issue is you have to redo researcher 4 every time you plan on doing the boss. We have six people so we do it as follows:

1. Build grimoire #1 up to researcher 4
2. One person uses #1 to enter researcher 4, everyone else uses an empty grimoire #2.
3. One person uses #2 grimoire to enter researcher 4, everyone else uses an emoty grimoire #3.
4. Do boss with #2 or #3.

Next rotation...

1. One person uses grimoire #2 or #3 to enter researcher #4, everyone else uses empty grimoire (the one previously used for boss is fine)
2. Enter boss with bonus to spoils.

Repeat the second rotation until everyone's bonus to spoils is used up. and then repeat the first rotation without having to redo all the expeditions. Note how the second rotation only requires two sacks.

Make sure you redo researcher 4 twice if nobody has any additional bonus to spoils, or you'll have to redo all the expeditions (unless you want to use your grimoire #1 instead of fighting samursk).

With bonus to spoils we've gotten two Chausubles and two Subligars (double drop) and one torque from 5 kills.

Yeah we always buy them, minus any bosses we clear beforehand.

For samursk, I would seriously bring a RNG or a COR; he's a such a joke to kill with any ranged job. You just run around and pew him when you're safely out of range. COR seems to work best with tact roll + embrava. He strangely doesn't resist wildfire (2.2k without QD boost).

Yeah, this. We can usually drop it 60-70% during PD depending on what it does (as 99 Ragna + Ukon). Although PD isn't necessary which we realised 2 kills ago. Alexander got stunned and since the PD'er was dual-boxing the healer, we just went fuck it and killed normally without issue. I'm not sure how big a difference it makes but we use Hybrid sets when killing him.

The last run we did the healer DC'ed mid-fight and we still killed fine, I just had to switch to Apoc. It's probably exaggerated slightly how difficult he is, partly as you can get unlucky and partly because most people zerg which obviously encourages TP spam.


Seconding that a RNG would probably make the fight laughable.

You can buy Researcher Emeritus feats too. There are three of them.

I probably wasn't clear enough, was typing in a hurry. It's 120k for just the 4th clear. Kinda odd since you can just buy the boss KI for less. I guess this option is for people who just wanna hurry and get Emeritus access.

To add, the instructor rank isn't listed, they skipped it. It goes Adjunct, Assistant, Assoc Researcher, Researcher, Researcher Emeritus. Assuming this is a glitch and Assoc Researcher is Instructor, Researcher is Associate Researcher, and Researcher Emeritus is actually Researcher. Can anyone that has bought key items verify this?

Seems to me if your group runs once a week there's no point atm to get extra sack slots unless they added restock- items too.
