    Receive landline calls on PC?

So I just landed a new job where one of the perks is working from home. I would need to use my landline to remain connected to my works telephone system so I could receive calls. I mainly want to hook it up to my PC so I can use my headset. I've ordered a USB Voice/Fax/Data modem dongle ($9 and Windows 7 compatible) and plan on using the dialer.exe software.

Does anybody have any experience with this? Just to clarify, I am not wanting a VoIP solution. Using a third party service like Skype is off the list of options as they do disconnect you after a certain time frame, regardless if you're using it or not (every 2hours from what I gathered on their fair usage policy).

    TL;DR

Want to use PC and PC headset to call and answer landline phone. No VoIP.

On this subject, do you guys recommend Vonage as an VOIP provider? My parents have been on the Comcast since it's birth.

I don't have experience with Vonage, but I set my parents up with an Obihai box and a google voice account for about $60 up-front and eliminated their phone bill entirely. They can't tell the difference, I was able to keep the old house number and they're really happy with it. With options like that, the $20+ you pay from Vonage or even Ooma just doesn't seem worth it.
