Why do devs release videos that show me literally nothing?
stop trolling
Make it a hat trick for fun.
Sounds really good. Almost instant spawning orbs, significant amount of points, instantly contests an enemy capture? The CTF mechanic will be the dominant aspect of the map, much like the buffs (almost) are in Temple.
Two maps in a row where point capture takes a backseat, rejoice!
I might jump into sPvP a bit more now that they're adding more to it. CPs alone are boring as hell.
Last time I did SPVP a few months ago, the zone was completely dead. I rarely saw anyone in the "lobby area", and queues were like 15 mins for free tournament. SPVP is by far the least popular thing in the game, WVW and fractals being the most popular(Fractals might have died out by now though, or did a while ago really). WVW is incredibly popular, I guess they want to add more stuff to beef SPVP to actually make it good, but it feels like a waste of time to me.
I don't think SPVP is neglected because it's imbalanced, or lacking content, I think it's because it's not enjoyable, and no one finds it fun. Too "competitive" in a game where the balance is nowhere near where it needs to be for a game to be taken seriously, there's so much shit in PVP that's been completely unfun/broken to play against since release. You can add all you want to it, but I doubt that'll increase it's popularity THAT much. A few more people might do it, but the majority will find it unfun, the most competitive players will play it for a bit, laugh at how badly designed a lot of things are in PVP, then stop instantly.
They really just need to solve the root of the problem - make it FUN. How can they do this? Actually change classes, they act like the entire world will explode if they do ANY type of class balance changes in any patch, making me think they don't know what they're doing at all and it's a complete FLUKE how the classes all currently work(unique, different). Like, seriously, they are literally afraid to change basic numbers on skills that are COMPLETELY worthless and could be made useful by SIMPLE number tweaks to make them more useful, they're afraid to do any type of buff to weapons, weapon skills, traits, anything. They're so slow and have barely changed the classes since release, have barely made ANY new builds viable, and have actually removed more builds than they've added in a few cases for some classes. The most they've done is nerf some blatantly OP/bugged things, but not actually buff much at all to open up new viable builds. I strongly believe they literally have no idea what they're doing.
I personally grew bored of only having 1-2 viable specs on every single class, and 2-3 viable weapons on every single class I played. Months went by(~5) and skills I could have easily fixed were left unchanged, weapons that you could tell were useless after 5 seconds of playing the game remained useless for the entire time, and I just couldn't keep playing a game where I'd constantly hope they would change weapons, edit some traits, and edit some utilities to make things more interesting by letting me spec my characters in more ways. You know, liven things up with some new fun toys to play with?
They also constantly LIE every patch "We're going to focus on making this patch add more viable builds" ...literally 0 class changes that show any intention of making new builds viable that patch, WHAT? Also, remember the "8 pages of class balance changes, 18 bullet points on just eng changes alone!"? Hyping the fuck out of it. Then we get the patch, and it's 95% bug fixes, 5% abilities edited, and mainly abilities that were already strong made slightly stronger or unbugged. Just completely blows my mind, really.
Id comment on the hugeness of that youmad, but i dont want to get infracted.
Aren't you a Mesmer? Sword/Pistol, Sword/Focus, Sword/Sword, Greatsword, Staff are all viable. Scepter and Torch need help and its for the same reason (confusion), and even they have use going for lulzy confusion explosions on herps. Builds: Shatter, Phantasms, Retaliation tank, Condition, Mantras, and the previously mentioned confusion lulz. And that doesn't even include any hybrid shatter/etc builds.
If I'm mistaken and you play another class lmk, and I can tell you how to play that one too.
People were asking for different PvP modes since begin and I personally can't wait to test the map. Always preferred CTF over Domination. The hardcore tPvP guys in my guild are rubbing their nipples already![]()
TP previews in patch. Took long nuff'
Whats better is the fact that you can hide your armor and "wield" the weapon in the preview. Two things that really needed to be in the preview UI at the start. Now if they only let us zoom out so we can actually see the top of every staff, trident and spear.
You can now kick people from your party while in WvW, as well as invite from the guild menu (I'm assuming, somebody said they invited from name).
Since right click/preview doesn't work from the TP, how are people previewing things? I can't find any update notes on this stuff.
It's coming in the update.
Any patch notes yet? I downloaded -something- a few minutes ago, but don't see patch notes anywhere.
They added some minor NPCs to the living story as well. Nothing significant, and likely won't be until the prelude is over at the end of the month.
Hope it really kicks into gear then, cos I love this kind of storytelling. Even in garbage like XIV I ate up the moon and shit getting bigger and random GMs popping in places.
Yeah, I want to know more about the Ascalonians and much, MUCH more about Orr.
