Guardian, lol. Firebrand looking to be ridiculous. Mirage, Holosmith, and Weaver also look promising.

Missing the enormous amount of burning and quickness available. DH will still be better for power builds but I'd be surprised if power DH outstrips condi FB.
expansion day![]()
I still need to test Firebrand a bit. I love the axe abilities but mantras are kind of meh to me.
I'm loving the mantras. Permanent quickness, tons of aegis and stability. Also PoF in general has felt like a far higher quality experience than HoT.
Are there any theorycrafted guides out there? I haven't had time to look much into it. I'm having too much found on my bunny mount.
Not that I've read, I'm sure there's something on the forums or qT though
Finished the expansion. Last fight is pretty damn fun.
And ANET went to the RNG side it looks like:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/t...ing-for-homes/We’re pleased to announce the grand opening of the Black Lion Stables! The Black Lion Trading Company has contracted with specialty breeders to offer a wide variety of rare and exotic mounts. Prospective owners can purchase a Mount Adoption License for a single, flat fee to adopt an available animal at random. Every license guarantees the successful adoption of a unique breed, so it’s easy to make room in your heart for all of them.
Mount Adoption Licenses are available individually or in a value pack of 10. During the introductory week only, dedicated collectors can purchase a bundle of 30 Mount Adoption Licenses at a discount and take home every mount breed currently sold through the Black Lion Stables.
Total cost for all of them is 9600 gems. There's also a 2000 gem Balthazar mount too. I wouldn't mind too much but what urks me is the BLC skins have 4 dye regions while the defaults are still stuck with one which makes customization pretty limited.
Season 4 has begun as well as a new raid wing and a new fractal. Got a scythe skin from one of the new caches that I sold for 200g lol.
I shoukd do raids but fear tthey're in "EXP or GTFO" mode. That and I need to get a set of raid gear made.
Also the new legenday focus is awesome
Wintersday has begun. Various changes and improvements, new items to collect. The jump puzzle now has 3 difficulties that award a different level of presents. I'm farming hard mode making tons of gold atm cause gifts are worth 8.1s each, inc another legendary
Shit I need to get on that so I can finish crafting my ascended armor/get more agony infusions
ArenaNet Installed Spyware on Player's Computers through a recent update to Detect Cheat Programs, 1583 accounts banned through a "investigation"

New episode coming next Tuesday. New fractal, new zone, new legendary horn...
...
but most importantly...
...
NEW FUCKING MOUNT BOYS ROLLER BEEBLE OH SHIT MY DUDES THEY DID IT
I'll need to tey this once the Splatoon 2 event later this week is over.
I should also work on a Firebrand build too. Looks like the Chronomancer changes hurt Dragonhunter a bit.
Been a while for this one, can't remember if there used to be a general GW2 thread or not but anyway. Since End of Dragons, they've been doing smaller, cheaper expansions that come out once a year with major content updates every 3 months. $24.99 for new story, 3 new zones, a new combat mechanic, battle pass that they call the Wizard Vault (this doesn't cost anything extra and afaik you can do it without buying the expansion), etc etc.
The first one was Secrets of the Obscure. It added its own story separate from the now concluded Dragon Saga, 3 new zones, the ability to use any of your elite spec weapons on any spec of your profession, Skyscale enhancements, new strikes, and a new set of legendary armor made via Open World PvE activities. It is now feature complete.
The new one that was just announced today is called Janthir Wilds. It includes its own story as well, 3 new zones, the ability for every job to use Spears on land each with their own new move set, enhancements to the Warclaw including new PvE abilities, a new Raid, a new legendary spear and backpack, and a personal housing system called Homestead. Comes out August 20.
Personally I like the new direction of cheaper, more frequent expansions that still feel like they add a bunch of content. The cadence they had before with slow, bigger expansions followed by 1-3 years of free living world updates simply wasn't sustainable.
While GW2 lost me shortly before Fractals were added forever ago, I'd say $25 yearly for new content seems pretty fair given the lack of sub requirement otherwise. New things to do will always surpass just making stuff grindy to pad content in my eyes.
