Namco Bandai’s Macross 30th anniversary celebration game is Macross 30 Ginga o Tsunagu Utagoe, or Macross 30: Singing Voice Connecting the Milky Way, developed by Artdink for PlayStation 3.

An anime robot action RPG, the game follows an original story where characters from each series is assembled are one time period.

The game will launch in Japan in February 2013.

Game Setting: Planet Uroboros

The main setting is Planet Uroboros of the original game. This planet is made up of floating islands, deserts, and glaciers. The surrounding fold space is extremely unstable; it’s a remote planet with parts that are completely detached from surroundings by fold dislocation.

Hunter Guild

Planet Uroboros is in the middle of being settled so the level of public order is low. Scoundrels called the Van Dead repeatedly ransack Valkyrie. Therefore “hunters” keep the peace in place of the military. It looks like players can become members of the hunters and fight.

This week's issue of Enterbrain's Famitsu magazine reveals that the recently announced Macross 30: Ginga o Tsunagu Utagoe game will unite the lead characters from multiple Macross anime titles in one era. The PlayStation 3 action game tells an original story set on the planet of Ouroboros, where a space fold incident has brought together these characters from different eras.

Among the characters and transformable variable fighters that will appear are:

Macross Zero (Shin Kudō, VF-0A)

This game looks beautiful, I wish I had two things:
- Full comprehension of the Japanese written and spoken language. (Mine is limited to simple words and phrases.)
- A Japanese PS3 unit.

Namco Bandai’s upcoming Macross 30: Ginga o Tsunagu Utagoe for PlayStation 3 will have an event where someone’s swimsuit slips or falls off, Famitsu reveals this week.

There will also be a sea bathing scene with Alto Saotome, Sheryl Nome, Ranka Lee, and Macross 30‘s original characters.

The game will make use of a new anime cut design.

Macross 30 is due out for PlayStation 3 in Japan on February 28.
