PSU making weird noise.

My PSU is making a noise like the fan is knocking something around in there. I took it out, looked inside, and didn't see anything in the fan. Sprayed some air in there, put it back in. Still making the noise. I didn't actually take the PSU apart because well, I'm not very tech savvy at all and I'm afraid I'm gonna break it.

The sound is pretty much just a constant metal "ting ting ting ting" sound.

This is my PSU (yeah, it's kind of cheap. Not surprised if something fell loose or something in it)

EDIT: Very odd. Just giving my tower a light shake made the sound stop. This is probably temporary but we'll see. Would still like to see if anyone's experienced this before or know what could be wrong.

Could be that the fan itself was a bit loose and it wobbling was causing noise, also I think that's about the one and only remotely decent unit Diablotek sell, the rest of their range is complete shit and shouldn't be used even if free.

Taking PSUs apart usually voids any warranty, so isn't advised especially if you aren't sure what you are doing.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but my dad once had a psu that was doing something like that. It would make noise, then stop for a while when he gave the pc a good smack. Turned out the fan was dying. We managed to fix it by stuffing a new fan in there, but since that voids the warranty I wouldn't recommend that. (Besides, you need to know what you're doing..)

I suggest you start saving for a new PSU if it keeps doing that. I'm partial to Antec; those seem to be like Mack trucks.
