    BLU/RDM SCH/DRK RDM/whatever

RDM pulls, SCH Manifestations Sleep2 and Absorb-MND, BLU whiskers. Colibri and lizard trials take an hour np. Have fun with hecteyes though.. I just went SCH x2 and alternated Ionohelix/ThunderV between the two.

I read on BGwiki that "there's additional 2.9~3 seconds overhead delay after aiming to shoot phase," but when I bought a dinky 288 delay crossbow to try stuff out it seemed like I could fire a shot once every ~3 seconds if I spammed it. That's an eyeballed figure, but it should have been closer to 6 seconds if that delay were still there. Is that the same "putting the weapon away phase" that you mentioned?

Edit: Stepped outside of jeuno and fired a few shots. I got 14 off in 60~ seconds with a 288 delay bow, so there's a difference of 60/14 - 288/110 = ~1.66 seconds. I guess there's still a bit of that extra delay, then. (I know that's not an accurate figure, but at least I know there's still extra delay.) Is it known exactly how much this delay is?
Using Xbow over Raider's Boomarang for Bloody Bolts also means you can take Acid Bolts to speed up the fight.

Edit: As a side to comparing bloody bolts to raider's boomarang which you mentioned otherwise using above. Obviously irrelevant if you will use xbow anyway and are deciding between waltz or bloodies.

I dug around a little and found a quick breakdown of ranged attacks on ffxiclopedia from who knows how long ago. It states that the ~3 second delay mentioned on BGwiki is broken up into a 1.7-1.8 second firing animation delay followed by a 1.1 second delay where you can melee but not use another ranged attack. If that's true (it agrees with my quick little test), it seems like they just got rid of that 1.1 second period. I think Dasva might have said that earlier, but I didn't realize what he was saying.

    Then Leo Crossbow +1 fires once every 1.854545.... + 1.7 seconds = 3.5545454... seconds.
Each shot costs 1.04774124316 (uh oh) melee rounds = 3.40376386804 dagger swings (two daggers) = 15.5892385156 TP. So using the crossbow results in a ~4.2 TP loss per shot. If each shot heals 90 HP, it would take four shots to match Waltz III, or 16.8 TP.

Do you think the 33.2 TP (50 TP saved from waltz minus the 16.8 TP lost above) saved makes up for missing ~13.6 dagger swings (four shots worth)? I'm tempted to say it's not even close unless the HP drained is actually taken away from the enemy's HP.

Did you factor in waltz time itself though? Also yeah could factor in other bolts like acid/sleep.

Assuming 90 HP/shot and starting with 50 TP: four shots takes 14.2181816 seconds and you have 50+11.4*4=95.6 TP.
Alternatively, using the waltz leaves you with 12.2181816 seconds to melee and 0 TP to start with. That's 3.60144256 attack rounds or 11.6998926 dagger swings and 53.5855083 TP.

All together, 42 TP and four ranged attacks worth of damage vs. 11.7 dagger swings?

I might try factoring in acid bolts if I have a free moment tomorrow (the computers at school will load Motenten's spreadsheets whereas mine will not!). I don't think I could do so otherwise, since PDIF is whacky.
Sleep bolts seem like a big advantage for links, and acid bolts would be a huge bonus for things like crabs or crawlers to overwrite their defense+ abilities.

Edited to reflect Mercilessturtle's correction. Thanks!

No, its 1 second where you can't do anything and one second where you can do another JA but won't do normal attacks still. So you can go JA -> JA for a total of 3 seconds lost, or just one JA for 2 seconds lost.

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't you give drk the wrong buffs and gear in your spreadsheet and when Taint corrected it the drk was ahead of mnk ?

Correct. Don't listen to Pchan when it comes to anything DRK orientated. For whatever reason he always skews shit away from DRK in his comparison spreadsheets by using unlikely buffs/gear.

The drk and mnk were using good gear but not best in the comparisons, feel free to do OTHER comparisons. As for buff, double march, double minuets, dia 2, RCB and boost-dex is not exactly wrong buff ; it's not my fault if the only way for drk to beat mnks or war is to cut themselves by using souleater and losing 120 hp per second.

Except DRK does not lose to a MNK under those buffs. Taint proved your numbers to be wrong and even included non-Souleater numbers where DRK still beat MNK. My numbers which included Last Resort down and no Souleater were also way higher than the pitiful amount you had DRK penned in at.

You offer no counterpoint or rebuttal to Taint's numbers despite them being there in broad daylight with all the calculations. Yet you still insist your numbers are correct but can't/won't say what is wrong with Taint's.

Christ even my Apoc DPS figures came out higher than your Ragna DPS calculations which says it all really.

EDIT: For posterity, Taint's numbers. Mine came out pretty similar (our gear varies). Note the 400 DPS even with Souleater down.

Let's not forget you also conveniently throw Acc out of the window skewing it towards jobs lacking acc even on mobs where acc would be terrible.

Koga and Ukon (in VW) are the only weapons I have seen in practice challenge Ragna.

Can 2 bst get clear in dream zones? (Clear as in win for KI for tav access) I would assume so but I have less then fond memories of Valk boss back in the day.

I found the following numbers on Ig-Alima from your math thread. Did you use the same buff as you stated above? If it is true, then Taint's calculation showed that DRK has higher DPS than MNK even without souleater, as Jem already pointed out.

    Your calculation:
    Code:
    monk
    DPS : 339.173936, spharai : 323.433438
    glanz
    DPS : shijin : 350.700562, ascetic : 382.054705
    Taint's calculation:
    Code:
    DRK
    684.162 (with souleater)
    400.417 (without souleater)

can be soloed by a semi-competent bst, duo should make it easy. iirc, the confrontation status you get upon popping despawns your pet, so plan accordingly. you'll also need at least some of the weakening items to eliminate those "fuck you" tp moves that gave you nightmares from back in the day.

It's also worth pointing out Nekra that he had MNK penned in at 55% ish acc iirc. Note that he mentions no Acc buffs in his post in this thread but MNK has capped acc for his calculations in the mythic thread.

Also note that in Taint's DRK calculation, the DRK gets ZERO acc buffs outside what they have available through their own abilities. They cap Acc with Souleater Up but the Souleater Down figures are probably uncapped (judging from the 96.5% Raw Acc with SE up) yet they still beat MNK.

I've been soloing them lately and it doesn't despawn anymore. Weakening items help alot though can be funny. Like did buburimu 2 days ago the and the dragons for the weakening items were harder since they seem to drop all hate from my pet every few seconds and then sometimes crit me for 1k... only bad part was I only got the 4 regular weakening items so it still 2hrd and chainspell aga3 rocked my world... but was able to finish it weakened

Instead of shitting up the thread with your DRK QQ you might want to recheck the buffs I gave because everything above is wrong.
