Getting back into the game after a little break. I checked the pDIF page on the wiki and it looks like the Ranged pDIF section was added/updated at some point that I didn't notice. I've usually just used cRatio when figuring ranged damage. If I use the current pDIF model given on the wiki to find my upper and lower limits of pDIF, would it be accurate to average my upper and lower limits and use that value for my pDIF?
For example, say my cRatio is 1.300, thus making my upper limit 1.300 and my lower limit about 1.211
If I averaged that out (The average being (1.300 + 1.2105) / 2 = 1.2555) and used that value as my pDIF value, would that be accurate aside from rounding approximations?
Not familiar with the game's randomizers so figured I'd ask.
It's more accurate to average the range than to not average it, but ranged pDIF information comes to us from forgotten times and has no data attached to it or recent testing to support it. It has been correct every time I've used it, which hasn't been very often.
Ok thanks! Off to my mule it goes.
From what I gather, the main reason for using Apoc over Ragna is for Cata to help in low man situations and you probably wouldn't use Entroopy that much during those times (because if you didn't need to use Cata for self-healing, you'd probably be switching to Ragna).
I could be wrong though.
Entropy could come in handy every now and then, but it's definitely not necessary. If you plan on using RNG more frequently, I'd suggest dropping it as Last Stand will be far more beneficial to you unless you happen upon a Liberator in the near future.
Is it possible to solo royal jelly using scholar? I was thinking maybe entering as sch/whm (for the magic defense bonus), casting shell II/regen II/blink, then using tabula rasa, embravaing myself, then casting klaustra on each jelly that isnt casting drain/bio, while helixing/nuking the ones that are (i could AoE klaustra also, but then theres a risk of it landing on a jelly that absorbs darkness, and knowing my luck, the DoT tics would still kick in after and act like a potent regen on it. besides which, AoEing it also weakens klaustra...). And also AoEing bind to keep them from moving and silence to shut them up. Would this be enough to finish them off, or would even embrava and magic defense bonus, plus schs high int, not be enough to survive? (or would i run out of time?)
How far can you solo ToA and Wotg now adays, would be THF/DNC( or /NIN)?
Barely started wotg, on puppets in peril on ToA.
I hope the answer to the WoTG part of that question is "all of it can be solo'd". Cause I'm about to do the same lol
Is there a good WoE, thread/post or guide somewhere? How much of those higher confluxes are low manable?
The actual WotG missions can mostly be soloed, but, for the Bastok quest line at least, there's bare minimum one mission you'll need help with. You can't keep the NPC alive and kill the mobs fast enough by yourself. I haven't done the other cities so I don't know about them.
Pretty sure you can solo right up to the final fight in ToAU.
What's a good TP body for Paladin? Scanning my inventory, it seems like Grim is my best option. Anything buyable or easily obtained I can replace it with? Phantasmal body would probably be best I'm assuming, but I don't know if I'd be able to get one of those.
I tried to solo all of Windurst WoE as THF and ended up having to use different jobs for a handful of them. I used THF mostly, WAR a couple of times (MS 200% tp -> sekkanoki two of them), WHM healed one or two (primarily the one in the castle vs the two fomors, "Darkness Descends" iirc) and I had to do the one in west saruta as well as the final fight as BST.
ToAU should be really easy as THF except for the dude who gets damage immunity, but you could possibly do something ridiculous like use a Sirocco or /RDM for enspell![]()
Depending on what you use for a headpiece, you can use the Mekira set for the same str/att as grim cuirass, along with 8% haste and some other goodies
