Elemental belts/gorgets best option in slots for Shijin Spiral?
Should I go for MP merits or HP merits as a galka blue mage? (not interested in other jobs except maybe pup, but FFXIV 2.0 is likely to come out before i get bored of blu. :D )
I know HP merits or bust for almost everyone, but 482 max MP at level 95 huuuuuuurts.
I can't think of anything blu is particularly good for that strains mana.
So I'm going to try to knock out some of the ghastly dynamis EXP trials so I can store gear. Out of the 7 I am interested in, 5 of them can be done in Beauc/Tav or Xarc/Tav. What is my best option for these, always tav? If so, is there a specific camp or set of mobs? I do not care about the currency return if that matters, only pure exp speed. Thanks in advance.
Remember that in Tav if you equip both a Beauc-trial piece and a Xarc-trial piece both will receive HALF exp.
Suggested mobs I guess... uhm, it depends on your job and how many people are inside. If you can reliably erase yourself (/DNC etc) and are soloing then I guess Leeches on second floor. If you can sleep and stun reliably then bombs on the same floor. They suck because they have the tendency of not using self destruct when you're paying attention, but start to use it the second you think "hey these are easy!", or when you're inside a WS/spell animation and can't stun >___>
Otherwise I guess you could try for Bees/Bugards on the first floor/basement, but you'd get waaay leess xp. On Leeches/Bombs you can get 20k xp in a single run if you use novennial/decennial ring.
There are also worms on the first floor and they're kinda easy (still suck XP tho, they're EP), but they kinda suck if you don't have ways to sleep them, because when you link/aggro those not in melee range, u're gonna get flooded with nasty spells.
So I'm pretty familiar with the English based "community websites" or whatever you call them, mostly being BG/BGwiki/FFXIAH/FFXIDB/Otherwiki/Etc. and all that, but mention of the JPwiki in another thread got me thinking.
- What are the websites JP players use for their information?
- Are there any other non-Japanese, non-English language sites of note?
- And while we're at it, I'll take a complete listing of English FFXI websites for good measure, if anyone feels like listing them out.
What do people sub on DNC besides NIN these days? I'm guessing WAR for DDing. Not sure if there's any other useful subs though.
Using /WAR will probably be your main thing, that's what all the jobs with native DW tend to do, because Berserk and Double Attack. I've seen /SAM for TP build, and for some reason /WHM and /THF seem to come up a lot when doing a /sea on my server. I'd guess /THF is probably because Sneak Attack is bugged right now to work at full potency, which would really help if you had an Empyrean Dagger if I'm not mistaken, and possibly also for Treasure Hunter.
The data is collected using Guildwork plugin and the site is maintained by Windower's Aureus.
Obviously it's not perfect, but it's way better than Wiki counting ever was.
Thf/dnc vs. bst/dnc for dyna farming? Been going daily getting an average of 180 currency drops per run as bst (max only 206), but ppl tell me thf is the way to go since you get more per mob. Neither job is greatly geared. Thf has max th. Tried thf a few times in the past and couldn't get nearly as many as I do on bst. Would 5/5 exenterator speed up kills on thf enough to make up for not killing multiple mobs at once?
For various reasons almost all of the subjobs lack a major draw for DNC, so you can use it for random things. Examples:
* Sylow subs DRK in Arrapago Remnants II (and I started to as well before I capped out on that zone) for Arcane Circle against the Khimairas.
* Sometimes I sub Monk just for 10% Counter and the HP boosts if I'm feeling lazy/slow on my mules.
* I sub SAM so I can self-skillchain without Reverse Flourish more reliably. (probably not applicable without Terpsi/haste/marches)
* I sub WAR for Voidwatch because I need all the attack I can get in the mage party.
* I sub THF for everything else that needs it because it's much easier to apply TH while killing something than to have to hit a macro and make your WHM/THF mule cast Dia on it. I'm all about reducing annoyance when farming.
* I sub NIN if I'm solo. This sub used to be a staple for Dancer and was useful in pretty much every situation, but the incredible amount of Refresh available / WHM AF3+2 pants makes damage negation in general unnecessary now if you have a mule, which I do.
Is there a plugin/program that is similar to multisend since afaik it is broken?
It's not broken. Aureus packaged it in to XI-Util, which you can find on the windower site.
Just finished Ochain, about to start on an Almace, and I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to drop my Shijin Spiral merits (I have an 85 Verethragna for MNK) in favor of Requiescat? I was using Vorpal Blade yesterday in Attowa while farming some NIN head seals and it struck me as pretty random damage (and pretty mediocre, but perhaps I'm just spoiled by Victory Smite).
