Get a netflix account, don't worry about skillups, just target fish that will make you money. An alternate account that you can craft while waiting on fishing messages has been an enormous benefit to me.

Depends on what you consider the "painful" part.

A) 200 fish/day cap - do crescent fish(won't be caught b/c too small) with a large rod to avoid the daily cap on fish
B) Slow skillup rate - get a skillup ring from the selbina contest, though this might be hard to place in now with the recent popularity of fishing
C) Pressing left and right to catch the fish - yeah, now you're in bot-land

p much all the above, I've decided I'm gonna attempt to spend a few hours out of my day doing 'namis and Fishing, so any good tips to skill up quickly/make money is what I'm looking for.

2. Yes, but in practice I've found Ragnarok does substantially better than that. We have an incomplete understanding of FFXI math. All of the math we do on the forums is great and might help us decide what to use and when, but we could be totally wrong. Comparing the math you do with parses of the situation you're math-ing for is going to give you an estimation of how accurate your model is, and when switching from Ukon to Rag seems to increase my damage against Tier 2 Mul mobs then I have to assume something is wrong with the model.

100% this. I didn't blindly argue Ragna for Mul because I really want to use it or because the spreadsheet said Ukon was better. Hell, I was one of the very first, if not the first, to get 99 Ukon when servers went live that update. The only reason I did Ragna in the first place was for a Epeen MS toy for WAR and potential DRK someday. I've defended Ragna *for WAR in Mul* because on almost every occasion it's beating Ukon in our parses by a wide enough margin to advocate its use there. As Bryth said, it seems clear something we haven't pinned down on the math side is going on to favor Ragna. Anytime you aren't fulltiming BR or getting massive outside crit buffs, they're close enough to call a wash, except 3 jobs can use Ragna.

No it's not clear, it has to do with crits being random and resolution being more consistent. But if you average ukkon from many parses, you are likely getting numbers close to the spreadsheet. I mean you don't do that many WS on a single mob even as an ally. More likely scenario : noone uses rogues's roll, boost dex, crit gear, blood rage. So err, it's pointless to argue if you don't want to do damage ? I wonder how many whm in your legion crap are actually sitting on 500+ enhancing gear, and aside from this, how many of your bards have ddb+relic combo and how many of your CORs justify a slot by rolling no less than 11 ?

Rag vs Ukon debate has overshadowed the real issue of the posted weapon results being completely off base. The same referenced numbers are now showing up on other sites which is compounding the false results impact. It would probably make sense to check all of the numbers if RagDRK is off by so much.



Anyone test the crit rate on Mustela set? Does stacking only 2 pieces get a buff or do you need all 5?

Copy your User folder (from FFXI) elsewhere, uninstall, go in and manually delete the SquareEnix folder, reinstall.

Since SE changed account system i cannot log into my PS2 to play due to not being able to use alt keys to log in passwords. So my ? is i heard that people are playing on PS3 and i cannot find any info on how to DL game to my system. Can i do this or not? thank you in advance for any help

If you have the old PS3, you can download a PS2 program off PSN. When you do that, just use the PS2 disks.

I don't know yours specifically but mines about that old and I tribox just fine. Could run more but I don't have more accounts and well I always have tons of other stuff going on in the background. Back when I was doing 14 beta though I could barely dual box with 14 up too lol

How old is your PC exactly? Pretty much anything made in the last 9 years will run it better than a PS2.

Also, you can do a password reset of your POL account crap under the SquareEnix account stuff on their website if for some reason you're unable to enter it on the PS2.
