If you can manage to get them all on your pet (and you have standard pet pdt gears), you'll be ok. I've done the trains + turtle fine on bst the couple times I've tried. Use pdt gear on yourself if you have aggro on any until you can get them off obviously. Saving temps from chests (fanatics, giants drink, etc) for this floor helps a lot too.

Thanks for the tips! I think the biggest issue was I didn't read up after not doing SSR in forever and it completely caught me by surprise, so I was unable to get off Choke Breath before they tore me up.

I'll spend some more time looking through chests this run.

Let them run past, start clearing the middle room, on their way back, they'll link up with your pets target and your pet will have hate. Try to use widescan to time it so that your mob will be alive when they get there.

I'll have to give this a try, thanks. If it's any consolation, I'll at least be doing something other than pulling every EP mob in dyna lol (so burnt out on dynamis now)

From tech:

FFXI Gamepad' config isn't recognizing trigger buttons for select actions.

They worked for rotating camera (Used one of the defaults to see that). They do not work for bringing up macros. Also, I now see an Xbox help button whenever I hit the Logitech button of the controller, but that never happened before.

What gamepad are you using? If it's something that has the triggers set up as axes (like a 360 type controller using standard drivers), FFXI won't recognize it.

Fixed the issue. I'm using Logitech's wireless gamepad. For some reason, when I initially obtained the gamepad, I had to use Xbox drivers. I uninstalled those and changed the input type from "X" to Direct (Not sure what the X meant) and the controller works without the drivers. Hurray for random!

It probably stands for xinput, IE: the shitty 360 controller based API microsoft has been shoving down everyones throat. It makes triggers function as a single axis, which basically doesn't work properly for any games that don't support xinput.
