Nevermind... all I had to do was complain about it not working on here, then magically like an asshole, it starts working...
I didn't do anything different, but I changed the folder name for settings... and now its golden.

I think it's a pretty big misconception that coin weapons somehow take longer than Empyreans. It's completely dependent on what kind of playstyle you have and the resources you have available. Killing 30 carabosses and 30 Cirein-Croins probably takes longer than getting 30 coins of birth just trading in KCs/HKCs to get the WS, and more importantly, I think Walk of Echoes is significantly more fun than just staying in Abyssea for hours on-end farming NMs. And, despite it still being pretty pricey, its still only a fraction of the cost to get a coin weapon to 99 as opposed to an Empyrean. 100 Die/Residue would total up to about 20 mil.
It makes little sense to get say, a Kasasagi these days because even an 85 Kannagi will beat it, but if a COR isn't riding the AM very often there's going to be relatively little difference between a Bedlam and Armageddon.
I made both because Arma looks cooler and I literally got the help I needed a week after finishing soloing WoE for bedlam lol
I agree, you really can't afford to Heel when wings are open. Usually(in my experience), it will result in a full draw-in. However, I've tried Shinryu with no brew on BST before, using RR/Ducal Guard/Savior w/ Faithful Falcorr. The best option was really just to leave Falcorr on it while it was casting/WS'ing in open wing mode. There's a few times I did Heel->Fight quickly just to avoid healing it a little bit. After a little over 20 minutes, I ended up bringing it down to the point where it starts using Meteor(which according to FFXI Wiki is around 33%?), and ended up getting hit by a Meteor when running in for Fantod. Haven't really tried ever since but it might be possible. It all kinda depends on how much he favors using Mighty Guard, cuz that can be really annoying =/
IIRC, there's usually a Pavan floating in between tonberries/imps, as well as near leeches. They give 16/24/64/104(may have the numbers wrong) like all enhanced mobs.
Pavans:
- Near Eft-Goobbue Range
- Near Imps/Tonberry
- Near Leeches
- Near Wyverns/Ahriman
I had horrible luck on refresh pin, however, after farming a number more I believe much of it was my fault. It was early abyssea when we werent fully sure how lights worked, so I went with the 128 method because it seemed to bring hte most gold chests, and I was much morelikely to see 2x rings or pins at once. After many many nights of never getting a -6% ring or refresh pin I began trying for the lowest level of amber to get big chests and spammed from there. Results were the same. Once again, after many nights of solo -ga farming on BLM I started completely capping amber and the -6% rings started to flow. Eventually with capped amber I got a refresh pin. From my experience helping friends after that we always capped amber and I've never seen a refresh pin without capped amber. Personally, I believe the highest tier augments require (or are more of a statistical possibility) with capped amber. If you are looking to NPC a bunch of junk rings go with 128, if you are looking for top tier augments cap it out.
I literally spent from November - Mid January focusing every Fri/Sat night from 8pm-3am -gaing leeches.
Thanks for all the info guys, I found the Abyssea Lights page like a few minutes after I made my post lol, I was clicking on each mob in the zone looking for light info there at first.
I got my -6% rings a long time ago before they added the resting/lights update thing, but I usually got mine after LS event was done and I had loads of time left over and capped lights (likely capped amber).
Is there a 'best job' for soloing Early Bird? Not having to use an SP to kill it would be delightful.
Given how the fight works I'm pretty sure the only jobs that can solo it at all are BLU and RDM. BLU is definately the best at it, I'd say.
I know SCH can because of Regen/Embrava making you nigh indestructible during terror, and Kaustra whittling it down pretty quickly, but I don't enjoy the idea of having to wait two hours to go again.
Draylo's solo videos on BLU make it look pretty horrifying/risky, but I suppose RDM wouldn't be a bad choice.
I really don't mind using an SP ability if it means I can clear it reliably and risk-free. At 297 alternate seals per entry you're not exactly going to be going on as many runs as you think, heh.
Do the crafting skill up foods work with Fishing?
TP phase damage is actually surprisingly significant, I'd say it's prolly around 25%ish of my total damage. Cara, CC and Isgebind are like the easiest Empy trials too.
Also, it's not just about Wildfire. It sucks on some mobs and Arma will have more AGI/Base Damage for Last Stand too.
