You wear it at the start and that's it. Can take it off after you start. Be aware that pre-casting some gear like that is actually going to ultimately slow you down unless you have enough of it and the spell's casting time is long enough.

i've assumed that you'll land 2 hits minimum
5 hit:
WS - 21 STP (/sam, rajas, brutal)
TP - 60 STP
WS - 30 STP (/sam, rajas, brutal, hag stone, augmented adaberk)
TP - 58 STP
6 hit:
WS - 15 STP (/sam only)
TP - 30 STP
WS - 21 STP (/sam, rajas, brutal)
TP - 29 STP
WS - 6 STP (/non-sam, rajas, brutal)
TP - 32 STP
7 hit
/sam = automatic
/non-sam
WS - 6 STP (rajas, brutal)
TP - 10 STP
keep in mind i'm mostly unfamiliar with drk gear, mathed a few scenarios i thought might be likely but i'm really just guessing there. it all comes down to how much STP you can WS in without hurting you DPS too much.
Setting up my RNG gear, and wondering: Is it better to go with a staff (Mekki Shakki + Rose Strap in order to potentially drop off a hit) or a knife/shield for my main/sub? Assuming I'm /WAR either way, as the knife/shield combo won't do me any good without Fencer. This would be for my bow set, as I don't plan on making an Annihilator and I'd probably be using Chatoyant or Vulcan's (I really don't want to re-buy an HQ staff though! xD) with my Armageddon to boost Wildfire.
The RNGs I've parsed do a 20:80 TP:WS split with a 5-hit because they WS *that* much stronger than their normal shots. Similarly, 20 TP bonus on WS (Fencer) is actually not that mindblowingly powerful. I think it's safe to say that your overriding priority in the TP phase should be to reduce the number of shots to 100TP.
I knew someone would say that... time to work on getting Experimental Lamia to drop that staff! xD
Took a year break, trying to see where I stand with voidwatch.
Have T4 KI for cities. Have others unlocked. What Atmas and periapts should I focus on getting and maxing? I assume there are a standard 3 for melee, mage, support, etc but in case they are specific I would normally take brd, mnk, blm, nin to VW. Also, I can get, say, a T3 atma KI without having cleared T2 and upgraded? Or do I have to do all of jeuno in order to get a T6 atma to drop from Ig-Alma?
How would that work, the gil mule needs to transfer first so the item mule has the gil to buy the items.
The missing element is you need two separate accounts, one account transfers mule with gil over, then the mule on the second account takes that gil, buys stuff, then you purchase a second server transfer to bring the items home, costs $50 to do this.
Assuming Windows on NTFS partition: right click log folder->Properties->Advanced->Compress..-> Apply to sub folders/files.
Then on Properties page you can see summary of "File size" and "Size on disk". I just tried a random log file and got 800kb->250kb compression.
doesnt matter i got it fixed, thanks for the replies though!
did they nerf retaltion skill up? I try to skill up in tahrongi with GS 270 on mandys but very slow skill ups even with skill up food elshena.
That would be disappointing. You're pulling the full crowd?
~10 mobs atm, got a few skills ups +0.1 mostly very slow, is 280 to high for tahrongi? im trying attohwa later
As I recall, they did intend to get rid of skillups on Retaliation. Whether it actually happened, I have no idea.
BGwiki lists the minimum level for the mandragora in tahrongi as 75. That should get you over 290 skill.
