The pet version can't miss, it works like the monster version not the BLU spell, but if it can it's not very often, can't say I've ever had a Cactuar miss me with it. Can't say anything about damage type or mob PDT, but if I had to guess I'd say no to the second and yes to the last.

I assume you need something like

Snapshot precast
TP Gear (X-hit + low/high acc/attack?)
WS Gear (low/high acc/attack?)

I remember a post here or on alla about an alliance of BSTs taking down Suzaku shortly after BSTs could select pet TP moves, and the needles did 1250 or 1125 damage, I don't remember clearly.

Is the damage considered piercing? Is the damage subject to mob PDT?

Yeah, 1000 Needles is piercing damage. Dealt 1250 damage to a Seaboard Vulture.

And it is subject to PDT: popped Hahava and 1000 Needles did 250 damage (-50% from Skeleton's piercing penalty, -50% from Yaksha Stance), and it dealt 500 damage during Raksha Stance.

I've recently lvl'd WHM and am curious what's the difference between Cura spells vs Curaga spells? Is there less emnity, more HP cured? I can't figure it out @.@

Offhand, Cura spells are more or less designed around being used under Afflatus Misery. Under it, they get a potency boost based on damage taken, and can be very MP efficient if used after you take a lot of damage.

While AoE, they're self-target only, so you need to be close to other party members.

Since, most of the time, you'll be using Solace for Cureskin (and probably trying to stand outside of AoE radius), they're not particularly useful. For the odd/occasional time when you might be riding Misery and hanging next to the melees to take advantage of enhanced Esuna (or being melee WHM), Cura spells are worth utilizing.

When Cura was introduced along with Misery it was the most efficient cure available provided you were getting a decent bonus from the Misery Counter. With how much they've patched Cure spells since then, as well as the general aversion to using Misery even when meleeing, I'm under the impression they have no real use whatsoever now.

Tp bonus actually matters for resolution and att is alot more important since it has an att penalty while ruinator has a boost. Other than that mostly the same
