Anyone have the best possible Summoning Skill set available that they can post? Looking to prepare mule for the PD nerf and at least get him a decent skill set for a decent duration PD.

Kirins pole (12), Vox Grip (3)
Caller's Horn +2 (9), Caller's Pendant (9), Smn. Earring (3)
Anhur Robe (12), Smn. Bracers +2 (15), Evoker's Ring (10), Fervor Ring (4)
Astute Cape (5), Cimmerian Sash (5), Ngen Seraweels (10), Rubeus Boots (10)

That plus capped skill should put you at 524. iirc you only need more than 500? So some wiggle room

They're making it cap at 600 with an extra second per 20 skill, so anything past a 20 mark that doesn't reach the next tier is pointless. I guess for a lot of people using a Hyksos instead of Durhurr Robe would be the hit they'd take, and maybe Mystagog Slacks instead of Ngen. Rest of it isn't TOO difficult to get. Rubeus Boots can be a bitch though.

Most SMNs will probably hit 500 without too much trouble.

Perfect gear + merits gets you 540 though I think, so 55s for an average build and 57s for a perfect build and merits...doesn't really seem worth the extra effort at all.

Sobek and Cirein-croin should be fairly simple solos for an Ochain PLD, yes? Keep HP adequate for Tyrant Tusk, outrun Deathgnash?

Just making sure I'm not overlooking something that would make them more complicated than that.

Er, I think I was thinking of lantern, not Deathgnash. Outrun both? They're the secondary TP moves in their respective back-to-backs, right?

its been a while, I dont know if you can outrun lantern, its like 10+ distance, but they're both always going the second TP move...if you're /dnc you could stun it easily (wouldnt recommend /blm since if it does silence then lantern, theres a chance you wont get silence off in time)

As long as it is in fact always the secondary TP move, it should be fine. I remembered it being as such, but wanted to be sure.

And stun outside of Flat Blade isn't possible. Using /THF for TH3(sash) and 9/13 red staggers. I've found Flat Blade to be extremely reliable on Abyssea NMs, but fights are long enough on PLD as is. Sacrificing a CDC to stun something I can outrun isn't desirable '~';

For sobek, depends on how much hp you have and how much damage you take from melee. In my experience, you need to stay at least 2.9k-ish or above to avoid the risk of one shot. He can also blizzaga/paralyga/etc back to back with tusk, so you'd need to be able to deal with that somehow. Also need to avoid his gaze petrify move, which is close to instant.

Melee damage is extremely low with Ochain, but I may end up using Future Fabulous as a third atma(along with RR and SS) to reduce Blizzaga and TT damage.

If it were magic damage, wouldnt it be consistent and be easy to test then? Even if its not in the logs, you should be able to see how much HP gets removed when its done.

Fairly sure Aegis Mitigates Tyrant tusk dmg. although I don't think have any parse data/logs at hand to back that up. And it's been a long time since I fought Sobek.

I don't know about reducing the actual damage it does, but shell doesn't seem to change the hp threshold that you get KOed at in my experience.

Curiosity got the best of me, decided to pop one before beginning Sobek trials.

I think one or two were lost to logs, but of what I had:

I want to say there was another ~129 in there before those, but I'm not positive. Based on what I saw from videos of jobs without shell and/or excessive MDT gear, I'd say I was getting reduced numbers.

Gear was:

Almace/Ochain/-/Smart Grenade
Valhalla/Twilight/Merman/Merman
Creed/Creed/Shadow/Merman
Engulfer/Creed/Creed/Creed

Unless I'm mistake, that puts me at ~49% MDT with Shell4(no augment) and +44 MDB(waist and Future Fabulous). 0's were from Shadow Ring/Engulfer procs, obviously.


If anyone cares, the fight was a joke. Wore full MDT for 99% of the fight out of safety/laziness. Awful Eye was probably avoidable, and ~10 second duration. Blizzaga did ~450, and he did try the back-to-back thing a few times, but I had ~3500 HP in full MDT, so it never even came close to dipping me below 50%(which is the KO threshold?). BG wiki should get edited, btw. Had bio on nearly the whole fight, so I highly doubt it has anything to do with KO.

Did you have barpetrify? Iirc it lasted a lot longer than that on my blu, but I only ever got hit by it twice.

for ciren-croin, make sure you pop pachira/poison potion so you can run after hypnic lamp, then outrunning mayhem lantern is simple. you can turn to avoid sleep, but might not always be fast enough.

Not sure about the former two, but I wouldn't count on a naked BLM soloing it.

I only ever solo it on SCH. Kaustra just melts him away.
