can naked bst / lvl sync gears bst / naked blm solo up in arms?

in my few tries, bst solo is based more or less on luck - a duo is much more safe. biggest issue was pet accuracy.
even with me and my mulebst my pets had a little difficulty killing it in time - it really depends on what level your pets spawn as.
most of the pet gear for 60cap isnt hard to acquire. herder's subligar being the hardest. if you duo like i did you can also use double fidelity earrings. I only used herder's, I cant tell if it helped or not.
guide's and testimonies i read say you can melee once its attack speed lowers, I find thats untrue - hate seems to bounce a little to easily no matter what his attackspeed/power is

think i went in with about 10mulsums per character, although i certainly didnt use all of that.

also, I've heard stories of BLM's being able to solo it, but I can't see it myself. I suppose its possible with the right equipment.

It was always soloable on rdm, blm and sch (before kaustra), but you need solid 60 cap gear to do it. It isn't worth keeping that crap around when you can just spend a couple hours getting sch to 60.

I dont like like strategy of using a 2hr to solo it, since youre, you know, limited to 1 entry per 2 hours

But, how many seals do you have? I burned through all my remaining BS (granted, not that many, around 300) in a few days whenever I had time. First time I entered with a very good lv 60 set, last time I almost didn't bother to get anything specifically for it, so it's not that you have to spend much time gearing, either. Just SS, Blink, Gravity (omg, a place where it's still useful!) and Kaustra+Helix it away.

If you don't want to 2hour, then either get 60 cap gear or a friend.

Even if you had thousands of beastmen seals, you'd be surprised how fast you'd burn through them just doing one a day or something.

If you want to go naked and not spend money rdm/sch can do it but will pretty much need 2hr. Ok geared (not necessarily for 60 specifically) and knowning what you are doing can get it done in about 13-14 min without 2hr. Just make sure not to go on lightsday it might push your time if you aren't good enough.

Of course I just 2hrd most the time since when I burned thru seals the run time to getting new and getting back and all was almost an hour anyways

Can someone tell me exactly how the periapt of emergence is obtained from Provenence Watcher? I've fought him multiple times and haven't gotten it. Each group zerged it. Does it need to be proc'd? Wiki doesn't specify whether or not you need to. If so, how do I get a group to proc it when everyone uses a zerg strategy?

Cryohelix, bio2, can aspir/drain with alacrity. Then just blizzard it when you have the extra MP. Pretty much the same strategy as rdm/sch but you have access to helix instead.

Nope. No atmacite or periapt. I've even completed all of the cut scenes following the fight.

Sorta except I never dotted just in case need quick sleeps. Plus I had no idea it had mp to aspir lol. I always was a fan of chain drain though. But what it really comes down to is how incredibly efficient drain is especially when sped up and getting some other dmg in there too.

That said if you are going to invest in gear a little I found other than staffs the most useful peices is max mp for rdm. Lets you go in fully composure buff then switch to nuke gear and still be at full mp

It says on wiki the atmacite and periapts can be found in the Riftworm Pyxis left behind after defeating Provenance Watcher. Both times I've won the fight with the groups I went with, their was no Riftworm Pyxis left behind. I found loot by clicking the Glimmering Trove in front of where you're spawned after the fight's over. Is this the Riftworm Pyxis wiki is speaking of? Neither time was an atmacite or periapt left behind. Can someone help me out with this? I've been trying to get an answer on it for some time now.

A few people on the server say Provenance Watcher must be proc'd during the fight in order for them to be obtained following the fight. If this is true, how would I get a group to proc when Provenance Watcher must be zerged to win? Is their a non-zerg strategy involving procing it? Any info anyone can provide me with would be greatly appreciated. I've tried searching here and on the FFXIAH forums and have had no luck whatsoever getting an answer. I've been trying forever now to get that third atmacite from the periapt Provenance Watcher's suppose to leave behind.

Somebody please help. Have posted this question multiple times and gotten no help.

Yes provenence doesn't have a box it has the trove instead.

You can and often get some procs while fighting but shouldn't be necessary. And no I don't know of any strat that involves winning without zerging. I can tell you that I got both when the first time I did it and we only got 1 lvl 1 proc.

I know it's going to sound really dumb but did you get all both cutscenes from the pawprints (from having the 3 petrifacts for the PW fight) before the fight? Did you get the cutscene from clicking the crystal before it would let you in? Have you triple checked your VW KIs to make sure you really didn't get them?

I've seen groups proc while zerging. That helps temps recover if the fight has extra duration. Get a few red/white procs and the group should be fine. A 2hred SCH can solo the stuns while BLMs proc if necessary.

Yes. Absolutely everything was done correctly. VW cut scene storyline is 100% done.

I'll try throwing one together focused more on procing rather than straight zerging. I've been after that periapt for too long now. Time to get it done.

He very well might not have MP, I don't really remember since I haven't done it in a while.

I do remember that I preferred sch over rdm for soloing it though.

Now, it's been a while but I do remember not being able to infuse a third atmacite after my initial PW win. However, I could have sworn I got the periapt and the atmacite too, from talking to either a voidwatch officer or atmacite refiner. Almost certain, but not quite, wish my memory wasn't so godawful

I have an EU FFXI account and I have installed the ultimate edition available via torrent. I don't know if this is the NA version of FFXI or the EU version, or if it actually matters?

Also, if it does matter, can I use the updates in the all updates thread? or are they linked to a particular version?
