Do elemental weapon skills not count toward breaking trial weapons? I've had this stupid Pole of Trials for months. Mostly been procing red and cataclysm cleaving with it trying to break it.

They do. I unlocked pole almost exclusively with ele ws while leveling whm in abyssea with regain atmas, since they don't miss. Originally Posted by fatty

You can download a latent checker to see your progress. It's a bit goofy to use as you need to move the item around, but it does work.

It's been a while but I was in the same boat when I did Retribution and somehow or another I think it was found out that you can't break the latents on NMs or something? At least that's what I recall. I could be wrong. Originally Posted by fatty

NMs dont work for trials (i remember killing baladur durring a staff trial with no result), so its possible that part of the code is a copy/paste.

Yeah, I'm using the UI mods, but they should be a bit taller and bolder from the XI view samples.

Go to your FFXI Config and make sure under the "Textures" tab the "Fonts" drop down is set to Compressed.
If that doesn't work, I'd suggest running a file check and then re-installing the custom UI.
