Does jug pet defense(particularly level 99 ones) matter to any real extent? Presumably against either Dynamis mobs and higher level Abyssea mobs?

I believe the hands from Mamook are unchallenged for that slot, but just making sure that the pet DEF+5 belt is as worthless as I assume, especially with the MDT belt available.

Neither are worth it for dynamis, as it kills your killspeed in place of a minor boon to your pet. But for things like HNM soloing, the hands are great. Do like you said and get the MDT belt over the def, though.

What is the MDT belt? I have used gooey on a lot of mobs that nuke, if the mob was going to chainspell or manafont I would macro the belt in temporarily...

Are we sure that the amount of HP Glavoid drains determines Disgorge damage? I've had a few times where he did disgorge for 6000+ damage even though I barely healed him (Shell V was up too). I can knock the damage down to like 2000 in my proper MDT gear and shell V, but it still seems dumb to me he can do so much damage in one shot.

On that note, is there any easy to way to deal with it, or should I just spare my sanity and brew all my pops?

Stun it, is about all you can do. In my experience, it has nothing to do with how much he gets healed. He clocked me once for 8k despite not being healed at all.

Any cast-heavy mob. Obviously it's a macro piece, but he asked about def/MDB not moepapa/mdb, so I answered. Moepapa is the go-to for normal circumstances.

Which NMs? I can tell you for sure dragua/isgebind are not worth doing on bst, they take roughly an hour to kill (and that's with augmented af2+2 legs for familiar, haste augmented e. feet, etc.) with constant attention for pet food/mulsums. Apademak/azdaja are probably impossible.

Dragua and Orth, mostly. Only alternative is some different job, but the solo aspect is for keeps.

Have every job 99, skilled, and well geared, so other than PUP and PLD I don't really see a better option.

Edit: Scratch that. I had forgotten that Orthrus has no deadly statuses. He should be a joke with Ochain and a MDT set. That leaves Dragua, which would probably be impossible, depending on how obnoxious his rate of petrification would be. Seems as if BST and PUP would be my only options for that.
