Yeah, disgorge damage depends on gorges. If he uses disgorge before he has used gorge, it can be a random huge ass amount of damage.
Pld/rdm with resist petrify trait/barstone/barpetrify/dragua's atma/killer shortbow, break shouldn't last long. If that doesn't work, and bst is really your best solo method, than I'm sure you'd be better off just farming cruor and brewing them, even solo. An hour per kill (longer without familiar up) + a lot of pet meds is just horribly inefficient.
I've seen a vere mnk solo dragua with 2hr/petrifiy screen/fanatics meds for whatever it's worth, and that was back at 90 cap.
Ive stunned every gorge and still got rocked for 9000 damage...only gets thru cuz i stun it and then it redoes another tp move 10s after.
Yeah, if you stun all the gorges then he hasn't gotten a gorge off, so you'll get the random damage on disgorge. There's no reason to stun gorge.
New to WHM, wondering what I should merit for it. Was looking at:

5/5 Shellra V
4/5 Protectra V

Thats from one fight, and those were the only attempted uses of gorge/disgorge. But, untill that 01:19 disgorge, I had healed it for 2634 (and an extra 1644 while it was reading that disgorge). Maybe a couple more from BW that I missed (was looking for "recover" in the logs, too lazy to go back). Another fight it got a disgorge through that raped my face, and then its next TP move was a disgorge on my blm, that didnt do the same damage at all (shell unknown, definitely no carol or barspell)

I'm not sure what is confusing you. Your logs show exactly what has been said. If he does disgorge before he has gotten off a successful gorge, then the damage is random (I should say unpredictable really).
NIN/THF BRD/WHM, double march + haste = 45s recast on Migawari, dies in a few minutes with approximately zero danger. Still really confused why people insist on the stun method when one fuckup / server lag / random act of god results in a wipe.
I do it with THF/NIN and WHM/BLM. Even if THF gets one-shot the WHM can actually tank him with cureskin without any DT gear. >_> lolabyssea.
Except that you have to wait 5 minutes for weakness to wear off (or however long it takes you to HP and run back while 2boxing) and your WHM isn't evading Glavoid's attacks, so the chances of another Gorge/Disgorge killing your WHM are pretty severe... and if both die, you lose. NIN drastically reduces the chances of dying via Migawari, and in the event of a death, can be back on its feet in 20 seconds via Mijin Gakure.
I get the thought behind "suck less, stun it", but I really don't see the point of insisting on using a strategy that isn't exactly foolproof, as the ubiquity of "how I not wipe to Glavoid" questions in these threads shows. It's not about proving something, it's about wasting the least amount of time possible on an activity as mindless and time-consuming as Glavoid farming. Bring a NIN and never wipe, or bring a stun and hope they don't fuck up. Doesn't seem to be much of a question to me.
In all the times I fought it, it never Disgorged back-to-back. That being said, killing it on MNK was still a pain in the ass because of the status absorbs (goodbye Counterstance) and Dessication. NIN would probably be easier.
Been gone for right at one year now. When I left my mains were brd (for any kind of event), mnk (for harder stuff), nin (for easy stuff and abyssea), and blm (for procs fun etc). Now I hear sch is preferred over bard for zergs, a host of 2h outclasses mnk big time, nin is again worthless with abyssea over and blm is still blm. Would I need to gear other jobs if I came back? Or is there at least one spot in events for one of those. Ghorn and 90 vere. I have other jobs but don't enjoy them as much.
In Dynamis as THF/DNC, is it worth it to use bloody bolts instead of curing waltz III? I'm basing everything on a Leo Crossbow +1's stats, since Octant hasn't dropped and probably never will.
Leo Crossbow +1 has 204 delay, so it fires once every 1.854545.... seconds (I think the ranged update removed the "aiming shoot phase" (?)). Each accurate shot gives 11.4 TP.
With a raider's boomerang and Aluh+Oynos, my melee attacks swing once per 3.39257944 seconds. This is assuming the haste from oynos hasn't kicked in yet, which isn't really fair. There's no solid information on proc rate, though, so it's hard to estimate. Each accurate swing gives 4.58 TP. On average, 1.6243342 swings per dagger per round.
I assume you can't swing while you're shooting, so each shot costs 0.546647614 dagger rounds = 1.77587683 dagger swings (two daggers) = 8.13351587 TP. (Does that make sense? I'd get TP faster using ranged attacks? Maybe they didn't remove all of the delay from the "aiming shoot phase"?)
Each Waltz cures roughly 350 HP at the cost of 50% TP. That's a loss of half an Extenerator's damage. Does the damage loss from using bloody bolts to recover 350 HP exceed this? I'm not really sure how to estimate how much a bloody bolt drains. Is it a true drain, or similar to drain samba?
I realize that I'd have to take into account the loss of raider's boomerang as well. Hopefully acid bolts could help negate that?
Seems like you mathed most of it out... iirc it's mostly based on lvl but slightly on int and at 75 I was generally draining around 90 without resists and it definitely seemed like true drain based on hp changes but it's been a long time
But some things to point out. For ranged attacks it's 110 delay per second while melee is 60 on top of that ranged tp is calculated on ammo and weapon but delay is just the weapon so with the update tp gain should be faster before haste and such. And the update removed the putting the weapon away phase more or less. Still a tiny amount there but for this purpose it doesn't really matter since you can melee during that phase anyways
But would be hard to completely math out since a bit of it depends on how much you plan on curing in a given time since the change in equipment will change tp gain regardless of if you are shooting or not
I think I calculated the delays using the correct 110 for ranged attack, as well as the TP/hit being based on both the bolt and crossbow delay. I probably should have shown that.
I read on BGwiki that "there's additional 2.9~3 seconds overhead delay after aiming to shoot phase," but when I bought a dinky 288 delay crossbow to try stuff out it seemed like I could fire a shot once every ~3 seconds if I spammed it. That's an eyeballed figure, but it should have been closer to 6 seconds if that delay were still there. Is that the same "putting the weapon away phase" that you mentioned?
Edit: Stepped outside of jeuno and fired a few shots. I got 14 off in 60~ seconds with a 288 delay bow, so there's a difference of 60/14 - 288/110 = ~1.66 seconds. I guess there's still a bit of that extra delay, then. (I know that's not an accurate figure, but at least I know there's still extra delay.) Is it known exactly how much this delay is?
Yeah you did was just saying that's a good part of the reason shooting can be faster tp especially when not getting external hastes.
Yeah there used to be a period after you shot where you couldn't do anything other than melee which is what it is referring to. That is mostly gone now
short question: is there any thunder based status-ailment that can be AoEd (or is an AoE from BLU?)? Shock doesnt stack with Manifestation (MP cost didnt double) and Stuns duration is just... ugh too short. Trying to find a way to massburn Trials for thunder based m.acc staff
