So I have NIN at 99, but I've never really used it for anything, and I don't even really have any gear for it outside what's cross-equippable from my MNK. If I wanted to use it for solo Dynamis or Abyssea, where should I start with regards to gear acquisition? I don't have a WHM mule to use but I do have a few helpful friends, so outside conning them into helping me with Kannagi, most stuff should be within my reach.

MNK and NIN uses a lot of the same stuff so you should have a lot of the useful pieces already. As the above said, AF3 Helm/Body/Feet and Relic Hands/Legs are great pieces to get. AF Body is still the best to use for TPing if you're planning on fighting mostly lower-level stuff though, so +1ing it for some extra DEX won't hurt, either.

Eva katana, in the current game, isn't something I'd bother spending time/gil getting. It does respectably increase your evade rate against stuff like Dynamis monsters but that's sort of what shadows are for anyway. I'd try to get STR Katana instead and stick to Kamome/Ban until then.

One thing to remember when upgrading AF body to +1 is the damage spikes. If you plan on making a Kannagi and want to take it to Lv90, you'll need to farm Apademak who levels up and becomes stronger every time he takes thunder damage, including the damage from shock spikes. So might be better to be safe and request NQ AF body again or TP in something else if you tank him on Nin.

If you do NNI it doesn't matter cus Thaumas beats it.

Ok so in my precast I've got Orison neck, cureclogs, Ori legs+1, 20% in merits, and incantor stone. With that would this work for cures or should I lower/raise one of the delays?

Also, what is the best cop dynamis zone assuming zero competition? (IE: pup on ws mobs)

From a damage stand point probably in the middle of all E/M/R. DRK is still a top end DD and Apoc99 is DRKs 4th best DD weapon.

The utility (cure 4 spamage, self SCs and 10% haste) on low man content like Meebles,Salvage makes it my weapon of choice.

I think liberator technically does more damage than apoc (if that's what he's getting at?) but it seems silly to make, considering it doesn't have the utility of apoc, and does less damage than rag for 3+ times the price. Not to mention ampoules/assaults/etc.

I wouldn't be surprised if some other random great swords beat apoc thou, like maybe dervish from meebles?

The TP set looks fine. For WS, I would do something like (pre thaumas):

Solo, you'll want to offhand oynos knife (or swap it in and out manually to keep haste up as much as possible). If you plan to farm dynamis regularly thou, I would advise gearing up a better job for it. You'll want something that can proc and has treasure hunter, nin can only do one or the other via subs.

Thanks for the tips. You don't suggest Kacura for either hands or feet? I forgot to specify, I'll be farming it with a friend who is a Spharai MNK with a RDM/THF dualbox. Neither of us have access to THF main, unfortunately. We did Qufim last night for the first time and got about 180 coins which I understand is on the lower end.

99Rag > 99Lib (requires AM3) > 99Cala (requires AM) > 99Apoc

Kacura doesn't see much use. You can augment your Seiryu's to have crit+3, or you can use Iga Tekko +2 if you think you're in the dDex sweetspot. If you don't have Koga Kyahan +2 yet you should go with Scopuli Nails.

The upcoming weapon Uguisu is potentially going to beat both Fire Arisui and Kamome in applicable situations depending on how much DW in ends up having (3%, it beats Arisui, 5%, it'll beat Kamome inside Abyssea), so you could always just stick to Kamome until that thing comes out. Though, I'm not sure what kind of drop rate it'll have.

With Dynamis, you just gotta get into the swing of things. I was only getting a bit over a 100 coins when I first started and now I can get about 350 regularly in a duo. Solo, I typically can make about 200.

Ones in Nashmau (for some reason), ones in Whitegate, and ones in Al Zhabi that costs 50 gil but can be taken prisoner. Thats the only difference. Its pretty hard to tell since you cant really duplicate the ??? items. The only thing I can think of, to see if the ??? items were pre-determined is to load up your character with ??? items, sign up for the test server (effectively duplicating them all), and trading them all in and comparing results.

Does anybody happen to know if keeping AF2 drops from a certain Dynamis area will raise my chances of getting a specific AF2 drop the next time I farm in the same Dynamis area or if it will simply result in less AF2 drops overall?
