I think JustaWAR is asking for ZNM Pandemonium Warden. Sometimes the abbr. "PW" also confuses me in PJ shouts.

Not sure why I evened bothered looking that up. Math is hard.
When you're comparing different stats, you need to convert them into the same unit, to see how much they add compared to each other. The "stat" most use is "% increase to your total DoT".
To convert DA into "% increase to DoT" you do [New DA/Old DA]%. If you add 3% DA at different levels of DA, it does not always give the same % increase to your DoT. Example:
00 Base DA + 3% going to 03: 103/100 = 1.0300 = 3.00%
05 Base DA + 3% going to 08: 108/105 = 1.0286 = 2.86%
10 Base DA + 3% going to 13: 113/110 = 1.0273 = 2.73%
15 Base DA + 3% going to 18: 118/115 = 1.0261 = 2.61%
20 Base DA + 3% going to 23: 123/120 = 1.0250 = 2.50%
25 Base DA + 3% going to 28: 128/125 = 1.0240 = 2.40%
When you compare it to another stat (Let's say Crit Rate + X%) you also convert that stat to "% increase to total DoT". Let's say for example that you have a Crit Rate + stat on a rival equipment slot and that turns out to give a 2.90% increase to your total DoT. Now, if we look above, we can see that if you had 0 base DA and the equipment gave 3%, it's total increase to DoT would be 3% which is more than the Crit piece's 2.9%. However, if you had 25 base DA and the equipment gave 3%, it's total increase to DoT would be 2.4%, which is less that the Crit piece's 2.9%.
Thus, if you had 0 starting DA, the DA piece would be better. If you had 25 starting DA, then the Crit piece would be better.
So yes, 3% DA is always 3% DA, but 3% DA is not always 3% DoT. Make sense?
yes i agree that 3% DA isnt 3% DOT, i never said it was but DA isnt diminishing, its linear.
so is haste btw 3% haste is 3% haste. 3% attack is 3% attack if its uncapped or capped. its neither diminishing or exponential, its linear.
but its all cool anyway, next time i will just pull up the spreadsheet and check myself instead of being a lazy fuck and having to deal with peoples answers that tell me the fucking obvious.
Has anyone had any weird issues with paying through PayPal either today or yesterday? I was just going to reactivate an account for the first time since May yesterday. Took the first payment transaction fine, but then I forgot I needed another 55 Crysta. The following 5 attempts of paying again would not process, even after waiting a day and just giving it a go. Anyone else have this issue?
It's only linear in ways no one cares about except semantics nazis who change the axis to suit there argument. The point is that the percent change in dps is diminishing so the more you have the less percent damage it will add while other things will continue to add more. You can't compare 2 stats without putting them into similar terms say like dmg. Otherwise wtf are you comparing?
Also haste doesn't work since it isn't actually attack speed so much as a delay reduction so yeah it's effects are very not linear. I mean 100% haste if acheivable would make you attack until the mob was dead in litterally 0 time.
Also he was explaining why in real game siutations it is devalued and not as useful. Anyone can throw numbers into a spreedsheet and do stuff it's about knowning the game don't have to get so mad
wasnt mad, and ofc its about knowing the game but knowing the game helps people that are geared well more then those that arent. doesnt help much if i go out in a t.shirt when i know its freezing cold. my "fucking obvious" statment wasnt even really directed to taint even if it was obvious for those that know the game. what threw me of a bit was death repeating something i said 5 posts before his that was completly pointless.
like i allready said i asked the question a bit wrong, just wanted to really know how far apart rancor and portus are.
edit: english isnt my mother tonque since i am swiss and have lived in switzerland my whole life so some terms might be different but w/e. 25% haste = 256/1024 adding another 25% on that is 512/1024 which is a linear increase for me^^. ofc the more delay you reduce the better it gets but w/e.

Doesnt really matter what you call it as long as people are consistent about it (even if they're consistently wrong!).
On the subject of rancor versus portus people shuld really go back to math it. DA has diminishing returns but so does critical hit rate. a double attack doubles your damage and doubles your TP. For 2handed DDs, critical hits are, like , mehhh: +30% ish damage on weaklings, +60% on HNMs). I'd be surprised if rancor collar was better even for WAR. Portus is clearly better for one -handed DDs too.
WAR receives at least 8% increase in damage from CAB and I think they use Empyrean/Corvine feet for an additional 18% increase in damage. So in addition to any benefits from critical hit, you're also gaining 5% towards that 18% damage boost. That said, the particular issue should use the DPS sheet anyways and I agree with the bold.
AF drop rate has diminishing return.
If x rare item is in your inventory, it wont replace it in the loot pool with something you dont have. I tried that on a KS40, filled up my inventory with most of the the junk to "force" something better...all I got was 3 other pieces of junk instead of 6. Thank the JP's who figured out if everyone in your alliance has a pixie earring, it'll force load D.Ring.
It isn't for Thief.
Rancorous/Nefarious > Atheling/Rancor > Atheling/Portus.
That's true for both /war VW Pil and /dnc DC Dynamis with relevent buffs/food.
Then again Thf has a naturally high rate of triple attack and critical attack bonus, which both favour crit over DA.
