    Google Chrome memory leak?

So i've talked to a few people at college and they are all having the same issue with Chrome as me. It works fine for an hour or two and then suddenly my entire system starts to go to shit, WoW is lagging out and not loading in icons and data, my browser windows lag to all hell, moving files on my hard drive take far longer then it should etc etc.

I've found the only remedy for this is to shutdown my computer and boot back up or it will be sluggish for a good 2-3 hours even if I don't have chrome open. I've tried Firefox and I can't seem to get the issue to come up again so i'm pretty sure that it's chrome doing it.

I think the culprit has something to do with shockwave player, as chrome seems to act fine until I open any page up that might have a video playing on it or a flash ad or anything, then suddenly it all starts going to hell.

    System Specs=
    AMD IIx4 965 quad core @ 3.4ghz
    8GB of DDR3 RAM
    2 crossfired 6850 ATI GPUs
    DirectX 11
    Windows 7 ultimate
Over 70gb free on both my hard drives, defrag every 2 weeks, run cleaners at the end of every week, no virus.

Probably just a flash/shockwave thing, as it does make firefox x64 "buggy" after a few days (about 3-5 days) of leaving the browser up (although I don't notice a slowdown, firefox x64 memory usage goes up to about 3.2-3.8GB)

I guess Google fucked up a recent update. I saw twice during the last 2 weeks computers becoming garbage because Chrome auto updater was stuck even if Chrome wasn't running.

I found no other solutions than to completely uninstall Chrome.

Damn, alright when I get home from class ill do this. Does an uninstall delete all your bookmarks? I can't remember if Firefox does that since it's been forever since I uninstalled that browser and reinstalled it. Guess i'll have to just figure out where chrome saves that bookmark file (or maybe it synchs up with my gmail account? If not...they should do that)

So I took out both cards and put the bottom card in the top and left the other one out. went to install drivers again since I figured the error I was getting was just due to them being crossfire linked to each other or something...apparently that wasnt it.

    AMD Display

    DriverFinal Status: Fail
    Version of Item: 8.982.0.0000
    Size: 90 Mbytes

    Error messages
    Driver Install: the installation failed
No clue what is going on with this. I have redownloaded the file 4 times, each time it fails. I have wiped all display drivers before each install, still a fail. I checked to make sure my card (XFX 6870) was compatible with the newest drivers (12-8) and it is, so I am at a fucking loss now..

honestly all I have to say is i'm going to buy Nvidia next time because I never ran into any issues like this, not to mention driver installs for Nvidia were at most 5 minutes or less, but the install for these ATI cards is over 15 minutes or so.
