This actually happens? Like in real life?
.
That was an entertaining read, thanks. (:
Your GF must give a mean head.
I did bible study with some Jehovah's Witnesses once a week for a few months. Was actually kinda fun.
Lots of nonsense, of course, but fun.

Weirdos talk to me about Jesus everytime I visit my parents.
Hah. I don't get pussy. Or anal. I am one of those strange creatures for whom sex just kinda never happened.
Nah, it was legitimately fun to exchange interpretations of the various passages we read and whatnot. Those guys sound pretty goddamn pessimistic at first, but then you realize they believe EVERYONE gets a second chance come Judgement Day, and it's much less depressing. It does raise an interesting point, though: If we all get a second chance, why does anything we do in this life matter? (Never got a clear answer) The sessions also helped me realize how people can disbelieve in evolution: they don't understand just how excruciatingly slow it is, or just don't understand the definition of the word "species." Mules, breeds of dogs, and cats all get mentioned a lot.
In fact, I've found a lot of their (And other people's- generally on the less intelligent side of the scale, if I were to hazard an estimate) attempts to disprove various scientifically accepted theories and whatnot stemmed from a lack of understanding about said theories and whatnot. It's easy to disbelieve evolution when you think it means there should be alligatorcatbirds.

I had something like this the first day on the first day of the new semester.
I was talking about how fucking ridiculous you had to be to believe in God while going to college and that God is an outdated boogyman from when we were first starting civilization comparable to Santa Clause. Then, out of nowhere a Wild Christian appeared and started to question my "beliefs." I said they're not beliefs and that I don't recognize dogma, and that just couldn't compute with her.
She then went on to preach how it takes more "faith" to be an atheist than it would be to believe in God. I just had the biggest smirk on my face at that time. She said, "If God isn't real, how come nearly everyone in the US believes in God?" I remarked that the average IQ in the US is around 90.
She used the classic, "if he isn't real, why don't you prove that he isn't real?" I pulled out my good friend Carlos. Carlos is my green, invisible, 3 foot hippopotamus that only I can see and talk to. I asked her to disprove Carlos' existence. She couldn't find a real answer to that, so I just told her that you can't disprove the existence of the non-existing. The only difference between my best friend Carlos and God, was that God was a lot more mainstream and offered cookies if you liked him enough on Facebook.
She then just stood there going on about her one-year journey about being faithful to Jesus, as I was literally chuckling in front of her. I called her a Babe in the Wood and kindly excused myself as I had to get to class.
One of my favorite stories is from when I was still in college. There was an old man with some young (high school aged) kids handing out pamphlets and trying to talk to people (even though it was at like 8 at night and there was no one on campus). I went over to talk to them just to have some fun, and soon realized that the old dude did all the talking and the kids just stood there with confused looks on their faces. The conversation went something like this:
Old Guy: Have you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart?
Me: Nope, I don't believe in your god.
Old Guy: Why not?
Me: I've studied the arguments on both sides and ALL of the evidence is on the side of no gods.
Old Guy: Well, explain to me how an airplane flies then.
Me: Uh, what?
Old Guy: If there's no God, what keeps airplanes in the sky?
Me: Lift?
Old Guy: But what about gravity?
Me: Do you really want me to give you the first-grader explanation of how an airfoil creates lift which is the force that opposes gravity and allows a plane to fly?
Old Guy: I don't know about any of that, but I know a plane wouldn't fly without the power of God.
Me: I have nothing more to say to you.
And then I walked away.

Fucking mormons. A few years ago, some Mormons came over soliciting Mormonism during the holidays. They left with, "Is there anything we can do to help you out today," line and my mom had them figure out which light on the string of lights was burnt out, then had them decorate the house. Never visited their church either.
When I was living in Korea I would get approached by these motherfuckers all the time. Normally they would approach me in English, and I would just reply in Korean that I'm from France and don't know any English. Remarkably no one ever called my French bluff.
One time I didn't pick up immediately that one of these guys was trying to pitch Jesus to me, since they know to try and talk about something else first. After about 2 minutes of talking to this guy about adjusting to life in Korea, he started talking about Jesus so I turned the tables on him. For the record, I'm not a fan of Buddha either, it's just the most popular religion over there so I ran with it.
Guy: "Have you heard of Jesus?"
Me: "Did you hear the part where I said I'm American?"
Guy: "Yes, I did. So, have you heard of Jesus?"
Me: "Have you heard of Buddha?"
Guy: "Of course. I'm Korean."
Me: "Well, let me tell you about Buddha."
Guy: "I already know about Buddha."
Me: "But do you REALLY know about Buddha? Come to temple with me."
Guy: "I should get going."
