How so?

With the way the last season ended, I just expected a lot better (or different) than what we are seeing right now, that's for sure. They made it look like the entire season was going to be Dexter vs Deb and it has been nothing like that at all, exact opposite.

Another co lead female partner (cough Lumen) that had a lame setup that begins with that Wayne Randall dude, Louis getting killed off (when they built up his suspiciousness since the last season) by this random russian mobster with the most cliche generic setup in Miami and name you can think of (still not as bad as the skinner but come on, we didn't even need a fucking bad guy this season at all, and now we apparently have two with that girl.. great) Quinn the walking filler, we aren't even getting real tits for fuck sake (cgi? what a goddamn joke). This season has been underwhelming and boring so far, and it's heading down to a comfortable spot next to seasons 5 and 3 if it doesn't get interesting soon. I am hoping La Guerta actually starts thinking and starts to piece things together.

Gotta agree. While Isaac really is pretty awesome, They are definitely stuffing too much shit & filler on thier plate at once when they had a gourmet meal to start with (pardon the food metaphor, Im hungry).

No clue what you guys are talking about but I enjoy the shit out of this season. Mainly because Deb and Dex are out of their comfort zone and the superb acting of the Isaak dude and Yvonne. Both characters had a lame introduction but both surprise me each episode now. Everything in this season is way more personal and Isaak becomes a real threat to Dex. I hope the end it with a bang and so far, it looks like at least one of the characters is going to die, expecting Quinn.

This is how I feel. The performances by Isaac and Yvonne have carried the season for me. I actually care about those characters.

I agree. This season was meh for me till Isaac and most importantly Hannah showed up. I think Hannnah and Dexter have a great chemistry and I really liked the last episode. Quinn shit I could care less about, crooked cop with a stripper girlfriend seems just overplayed for me. Laguerta should've died long time ago. I used to like Angel but he's a ghost this season.

The mob has decided not to use the standard "threaten/kill the family" tactic for dex. The Deb reaction story is turning out to be completely forgettable (should have broken the show, but went back to normal by ep 3). I don't get why she isn't grilling dex more about the missing evidence or the writer dying at his place after he botched his blood report on purpose.

I'm guessing the new girl will get taken by the mob, in the end she dies and the mobster gets poisoned by dex (or drops dead from poison just before killing dex).

Joey will probably get caught and Angel will help him escape with his stripper, then retire without benefits or something but he gets back together with laguerta and maybe she leaves with him.

If it runs out like this, I'll hate you for spoilering it because that would be a pretty good getaway. Just hell no to LaGuerta + Batista. He deserves way better than getting back to her again.

And I know how we all hated the idea of Deb being in love with Dexter last season, but when she came out and said it during this episode I was suddenly okay with it. The context is different now that Dex is in with Hannah and Deb actually did a really good job with that scene and being hysterical. Those two scenes made it a pretty strong episode.

This Dex/Deb scene, to me, only exasperated why Deb being in love with Dex is so retarded. It's like when you have an idea in your head, and then when you finally say it out loud and realize it makes no god damn sense. The Isaak scene was really well done though, even though I don't like the idea of Victor being his lover. I guess that's the theme of this season, love. ERRBODY IN LOVE WITH ERRBODY.

Watching the preview for next week when Laguerta says to Mattews the Bay Harbour Butcher is still alive, it popped into my head maybe he's known it was Dexter all along, since him and Harry were best friends..... idk, just a thought.

This season has pleasantly surprised me after a long series of ok-ish seasons. Definitely knocked S2 down a peg on my favourite running order;

S1 > S7 > S2 > S4 > S5 > S6 > S3
