Well I'm hoping for better writing than season 3 or 5. Seems reasonable.

So, I guess it's gonna be the LaGuerta show for the last 3 episodes. This arson killer is meh and is obviously the inspector dude. Something or other will happen between Dexter and him. Reminds me of the season 3 killer (skinner or something) in that he got tossed in last minute and was basically just a throwaway end boss developed too late for anybody to care about.

Also, SteveMc may have been right about Matthews. There isn't much of a reason to bring his character in this story atm, unless he's got something hidden.

My guess is that they're starting the set-up for the next season now. The inspector/serial killer (if it isn't the inspector for some reason) is just a way for LaGuerta to get more evidence pointing to Dexter. Probably Dexter goes to kill him and LaGuerta is secretly following him and sees him putting the body into the boat or something like that since she knows about his boat.

Think it's more the fact LaGuerta is in over her head trying to figure shit out, and Deb basically blew her off. Matthews is really the only one with the presumed experience to actually be of help and the fact she can hook him up is at least a benefit for both.

The fact they've announced more seasons is probably a clue Dexter gets off unless they want to turn it into him being on the run for the next two years. Whether or not that means Matthews knows something and protects him is another matter. Then again, given the whole "he has a boat" and would be a cop, himself, he'd also fit part of the BHB profile the FBI guy wrote up. So I wouldn't put it past Dex or even Deb on framing him for it all.

How many seasons are announced right now? I thought it was just through 8. Jesus, I don't even want it to go past that.

I was enjoying this season for a while but it has kind of lost me at this point. I can't stand that everybody has feelings and they feel the need to voice those feelings at every possible moment, thus completely eliminating any need for interpretation. It's starting to feel like a shitty love child of seasons 3 and 5. Maybe I'm bitter because Issak died and he was the only part of the show I was currently enjoying other than Yvonne's sweet, sweet ass; but I'm not feeling where this is going.

Best part of Dexter right now is that it leads into Homeland.

Executive producer Sara Colleton confirmed that Season 8 will be the show's last season and they already know how the show is going to end

If Hannah had died too I would be inconsolable. I was about to blast Deb so hard when she made the "you two don't have a future together!" comment but it was nice that she semi-recanted it.

It is a little strange that the Isaak arc ends before the finale (since his arc is/was the best) but there should be enough with the LaGuerta investigation and Quinn being in deep shit to finish strong. I agree with the comparison to the skinner from the past season, the arson investigator is kind of a lazy villain thrown together just to keep Dexter busy the last three episodes.

Did anyone notice the weird expression on Hannah's face when Dexter hugged her at the end of the episode? I might be giving the actress too much credit but it was unsettling and seemed out of place.
