why do you guys like lumen so much lol
why do you guys like lumen so much lol
That's what I want to know. Killers don't usually get happy endings and I will be surprised if Dexter does.
Lumen just felt like more of a sympathetic and engaging character to me. I actually gave a crap about what happened to her. I hated the way she was shipped off at the end of the season and never so much as mentioned until a throwaway line in season 7.
Hannah just felt like a barely-concealed psychopath, and the entire time Dexter was dating her I was thinking are you fucking crazy? [well, yes, yes he is, if you know what I mean] you know she's a backstabbing manipulative bitch why are you doing this? Every other thing she told him was a lie to cover up somebody she had killed, wants to kill, or tried to kill. That, and the fact that they treated this like the first time Dexter has ever had feelings for a woman when he has a new love interest every other season and spends the entire time wondering what this wondrous new feeling is. This is despite repeated claims that he's an emotionless monster. I reeeeally hope season 8 just avoids any romantic subplots (unlikely, since Hannah lived) and focuses on the Bay Harbor Butcher case reopening. Season 7 started to lose me whenever the focus shifted to the relationship between Hannah and Dexter, because it just felt so forced and it made Dexter look like a sex-addled idiot when he started out the series as the complete opposite of that. Plus Yvonne Strahovski's face looks weird, there I said it.
I've always liked Deb. I really liked how they handled her in the first few episodes of the season where she was gradually putting the pieces together about Dexter's secret life, although I definitely could have done without the pseudo-incest "I'm in love with you" subplot that seemed to accomplish nothing other than unnecessary drama (especially awkward since Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall are divorced irl). Also I can completely relate to a girl with an exceedingly foul fucking mouth.
And I think if anything indicates that Dexter will not get a happy ending, it's the season 7 finale. Nothing about that episode was happy, and I have a feeling it's just gonna go downhill for the Morgans from here. One or both of them will definitely be dead or in jail by the end.
Although Hanna lives, I didn't get the feeling that she'll come back. Looked to me like she realized during the two convos that Dex will never trust her and always values Deb higher. Thought that flower scene at the end was her saying goodbye to Dex.
Anything else than Dex dying at the end of the next season would surprise me. They spend a good portion of this season to turn Dex from the "cold blooded but right doing" killer into a simple killer, who'd do anything that he thinks is necessary. I always thought Deb would have to kill him but after this finale it's clear, that she won't ever be capable of doing that.
Thanks, I was trying to figure out exactly why I hated the Dexter/Hannah relationship, even though I fuckin love Yvonne, and that totally it. Thats pretty much why I liked Lumen too, even though the season itself was meh.
I really wish Deb would have shot Dexter at the end actually.
LaGuerta died. This is exactly what I asked for a few pages back. Thank you. But, as I also said back then, it didn't make any sense.
Deb "ZOMG DAXTER U CANT KILL LE GUERTA"
*BAM*
Deb "I get to shoot that cunt."
I blame Mass Effect 2. Now whenever I see Yvonne's face, I see the uncanny valley that is Miranda. God I hate Miranda.
Wasn't that the flower she used to poison her mentor? I read it as a threat. But that might have just been because I hated her character the entire season.Originally Posted by Aevis

Yeah, that weird-looking lumpy thing on her head that they focus on whenever she's speaking, instead of the normal shots of her butt and boobs.
It wasn't that- the LaGuerta shoddy frame job, Dexter obvious baiting and events leading up to it felt really stupid. Everyone was just being stupid. I'm not gonna complain though cause ding dong the witch is dead! Personally, I thought the angle was gonna be Mathews taking the fall for Dexter. I figured that since all the evidence was turning up neat and tidy she would suspect he was doing it for his retirement benefits.Deb didn't want Dexter to kill LaGuerta, nor did she want to kill her herself, but the situation Dexter had lured LaGuerta into left Deb very few options when she walked in on it. LaGuerta didn't frame Dexter - Dexter made it look like she did to discredit her. After he figured out that she had set his mom's killer free to set a trap, he took the old shirt from evidence and planted it in the dumpster, then let himself get caught on tape taking bags of ice on his boat. LaGuerta genuinely had him trapped at that point - she didn't need to frame him. He was guilty.
I feel like Season 8 could go either way right now - it could be awesome, or it could be terrible. Expecting the latter, hoping for the former.
But LaGuerta's dead, so it's all gonna be okay~
Well if harrison dies we pretty much know how it ends. The kids are really the only thing at this point that can make the ending go either way.
i really hope that this will end in sort of fincher's seven way. this show can't and shouldn't have an happy ending.
dexter becomes miami metro's super weapon. Both Parents dead, one was slain.. He has to become a superhero, no other way to end it
lol Hannah didn't leave the plant to try to kill anybody. C'mon. It was clear as day she still loved him and also clear as day that the relationship unfortunately would not work. It was simply a "something to remember me by" thing.
