k&kproductions put up some money themselves, but went with indiegogo to raise what they needed for the original shoot and reshoot, but as far as i know it will be 100% free. they are hoping it grows huge and the right people see it and wanna make a feature length movie, or a mini series. other wise the 4-5 minute trailer is all well see.

I agree with your 7/10 but you gotta work with the limited funds you got! they are showing tid-bits of all characters, not much action this teaser as mentioned by them was going to just be a poster of Vegeta's new armor look, i like that they showed some video.

for those who cared about the Nappa mustache trust me you are not alone, you gotta work with what you have and who is willing to be part of the project.

Damn. I always thought DBZ just wouldn't work in live-action, but that Yamcha training sequence was pretty badass. Vegeta's hair and Satan Petit-Coeur's skin texture/antennae (sorry, forgot Japanese/English name) are as lulzy as expected, though.

The actors looked cheesy but proved a point. With higher production values, a DBZ movie / trilogy could be played straight like the cartoon for a movie and come off looking incredibly epic doing so.

And personally I love these type of things. In the similar vein as:

I personally find these type of movies awesome. I don't care how corny it is. It's so corny it's awesome. There's a reason why the above film is better than the shit that is Legend of Chun Li. It tries to stick true to the original material, rather than be sprinkled with Hollywood.

There's the film critics and the hardcore fanboys to please, but in all honestly, fuck them. I'm too old to care. I'm more of the casual type. If it brings a smile to my face (like the Saiyan Saga trailer did) then I'm confident it'll be fine. And as mentioned, it seems they're spending a great amount of effort and paying attention to the details, so it can't be that bad.

The 7/10 comment that I mentioned, the only thing I didn't like was:

The armor looked odd, but ultimately I think it worked for a live action type thing
The trailer was too short
And nothing is ever 10/10 perfect

They weren't happy with that armor because the designer for it quit like a few days before shooting and so somebody else had to come in and do it from scratch in a short amount of time, but they were planning on reshooting with a better armor if they could get the funds.

Effects were a lot cheesier than I expected based on the initial videos but taking into account some of the issues they had while shooting and what they had to work with, trailer was still amazing.

oh yeah, this was different video, but yeah sorry about that Vandole, and yeah.. I loved the video. I agree with the "cheesier" comment but taken into consideration money and other things mentioned they did a really solid job with what they had. hoping this blossoms into something more.

Even keeping the "cheezy" effects the same, I'd go see and enjoy this far better than the other live action movie created (if you really HAVE to call it a movie).

The problem with what these guys are doing is that it would only really appeal to those who are already fans of and familiar with DBZ. All they're doing is taking the show and translating it scene for scene into live action, which works for fan made and aimed stuff, but could never work as a main stream feature film.

While the Hollywood version was terrible and failed because of all it's changes, this would would fail because of being too extreme in the opposite end of the spectrum. If their plan is to show off how it's possible to make a better Live Action version of DBZ, then it's really not doing it's job because the biggest problem with making a live action movie of a show like DBZ is being able to trim ALL the fat while keeping the parts that made the show so great in the first place.

And I'm not even taking into account the "cheesy" effects and acting, those are both perfectly understandable, I'm just not impressed by a direct Cartoon to Live Action conversion.
