aight so the data is here archi
from 2008 you can look at this link for all the plays in which a 3rd down converted into a 1st http://pfref.com/tiny/bH8gk (looks like 288 plays including penalties) just click show all QBs
vs
from 2008 all the 3rd down plays that were not a result of a 1st down again click show all QBs http://pfref.com/tiny/feR6G 332 plays
CSV both of these and combine some ofthe leader data and you should be able to compile a quick list just using QBs
Sounds like a lot of work.
arod likes to hold on to the ball too long though, and that's not factored into the qb rating. Look at how many sacks he has on 3rd down as well
meh nm though CSV would output it to excel for ya
sack order 3rd down (not converting):
Ben Roethlisberger
Joe Flacco
Aaron Rodgers
Matt Cassel
Jay Cutler
Matt Ryan
Jason Campbell
Donovan McNabb
Matt Hasselbeck
Ryan Fitzpatrick
Mark Sanchez
Kyle Orton
Philip Rivers
Alex Smith
If the choice on 3rd down is to throw it away or take a sack, who gives a shit unless you're in field goal range? You're punting anyway.
Unless you're arguing a pro-unleash-the-dragon stance, in which case you're right - Rodgers will never be Sexy Rexy.
And on that note, Rodgers has taken 5 3rd down sacks in his career between the opponents' 20 and 35 yard line, where it really hurts you for FG range.
Been busy all day, XAJ DO IT
