He can't afford to go to a doctor, since it is unlikely he has any health insurance from his $8/hr job. Boom,

But how do you expect people to grow and mature if they can't go to school and they can't take care of themselves if something happens. I'm one of the lucky ones that has never had a serious health issue, so not having health insurance for almost 20 years hasn't affected me at all (and no, i've never gone to the emergency room either).

I get that you aren't a fan of Romney, but dislike Obama even more. Since you've mentioned Ron Paul several times, feel free to write him in.

funny story my mom works for ESPN and schedules the production crews. I can tell you where gameday is going weeks in advance.

One last thing for some perspective. If the government is taking out more that a person can afford for student loans and the person has to go on food stamps as a result, the government is losing more money than they're taking in. And food stamps don't get paid back. That's just food stamps, what if they require other entitlements?

Yes, if your spine got severed and you are stuck in a wheelchair I'm not going to make a big deal about it. But if the only reason you are out of work is because the last place you worked got bought out and shut down, there is nothing stopping you from doing some kind of community work 10 hours a week. This will still leave plenty of time to pound the pavement looking for something better.

I'm one of those people "going to school for just the pell grant refund". $29xx grant for the semester which cost $17xx or so to take. So a refund of $1200 or so. Yeah man, this shit is totally worth it. I have to go to 4 classes, if I fall below a 2.0 I'll not be able to get any more of this money, so I have to actually attend the classes (since EVERY class has an attendance grade) and put in at least minimal effort to pass the class. I go to class for 13 hours a week for 15 weeks, so 195 hours. I get $1200 over the course of 195 hours which equates to... $6.15/hour! FUCK YES MAN I AM BEATING THE SYSTEM AND THIS RULES!

I also thought I'd point out that Tyche and I do the same thing and I'll also go over his posts but so far he hasn't said a single thing that is glaringly inaccurate.

I will admit that despite being a professional I have tugged strings in the past to get where I needed to be but they were necessary strings.

There is a very small minority of students "lying" for "free money". That is hardly the problem.
