I think it's a mixture of both. I think as a Christian he is wanting to LOLPLEASEGOD but as a businessman he's just wanting to cut the fat.

He's seriously out of touch with society if he thinks paying them $12-13 is a living/acceptable wage. For retail, it's pretty generous. That's if he pays *everyone* that, because having worked in retail I can tell you that's bullshit. In my job, at entry level, I make more than my manager does in retail having worked with them for almost 20 years.

It's just more crocodile tears at this point. The real answer is he doesn't want to have to conform so he's hiding behind his religion. If he, like other CEOs, actually cared about his employees, he'd be doing what he could to provide his employees with insurance.

Even then, if they already have insurance, he doesn't even need to worry.

It isn't? The neocons and overt indoctrination processes within it say otherwise.

Gotta give those Jews back their land so the portal to Heaven can open and Jesus can respawn.

I still think that as a Catholic, this businessman should be all for birth control. It's against the doctrine of the Catholic Church, so only pagan babies will be denied their chance and the world will move closer to their version of nirvana. I mean, it's not like there's a good percentage of Catholics that sex anything and use contraception anyway.

So does anybody have a decent write-up on how much money it actually costs for businesses like Papa John's (cutting employee hours to 29) to keep them at 30+? I just wonder because at several businesses I've worked at liked to throw around numbers in the thousands of dollars that it takes to train a new employee (which is almost completely bullshit), and yet don't like to remind anyone of this number when they have to hire more employees to cover the hours the 30 to 40 hour/week crew lost.

Hobby Lobby shares a similar view to Chik-Fil-A in that both businesses are not open on Sunday.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's not totally financially motivated.

You would be surprised how much money you save by eliminating a single day's operating costs. Taking out Sunday alone will save you 52 days of overhead. That's a lot of money for national chains.

It's obviously religiously (and financially) motivated in both cases.

I still maintain that a religiously-motivated CEO needs to separate business from religion because they simply cannot mix and be held to a straight face.

You mean the same way most religious adherents pick and choose what tenets they want to back in the name of self-interest? Cmon, you know this game already.

The following adjustments are scheduled for the newest version update of the middle east:

-When certain spawn conditions are met, placeholders for the notorious monster Jesus Christ(tentatively named) will appear

    You forgot:

-The salvation rate for believing in Jesus Christ has been adjusted.

Is salvation a JA? If so, shouldn't it be capitalized?

Salvation's a drop from Jesus but his spawn rate is 72 hours - he may or may not pop depending on what your character's faith is.

If Salvation doesn't drop or an Athiest is present, all characters with high faith gain the Berserk status.

You can't honestly believe they're profiting by being closed on Sundays.

There's no way people posting here are that intentionally oblivious.

Don't you know that it costs a business money to be open! They don't make money when they are open for business because it costs money to be open for business! They are better off to close for a day because it costs money to be open..........can I make it any more clear? It costs money to be open for business!

If they profit by being closed on Sundays, I would imagine that they would profit even further by just closing altogether.

It's possible that sunday is such a slow sales day that it saves them money.... but there's no way in hell I believe ChicFilA wouldn't make a Shitload if they opened Sundays.

There are most likely no statistics on this for Hobby Lobby anyway. Simply being closed means they are losing money - paying for storage, taxes, HVAC (which shouldn't be turned off in a store full of art-stuff) is required whether they are open or closed. Sundays are especially a great time of the week to be shopping (people/families already out early in the morning doing churchy things and stuff).
