Haven't seen the movie yet, but I can never understand how Engrish gets so butchered in this day and age. Last tragedy I can think of was the first season of Symphogear.

Zankyou no Terror had some similarly awful english to this movie, but there's a lot more of it in this movie.

The engrish is god awful and really takes you out of it, other than that I liked it. I would imagine if it got dubbed it would be 150% less cringe worthy.

I think it's because they got the voice actors to do the english for their own character so the voice was the same.... because it'd be weird if they switched to a different voice.
That said, some basic coaching wouldve gone a long long way.

Yeah, it's understandable in that respect. It's usually more the grammatical inaccuracies that bug me than botched pronunciations. Then again, it's hard for me to imagine language without an L.

I didn't know bad engrish bothered people. That shit cracks me up. My all-time favorite scene in anime is still the Detective Conan "poriceman" scene.

The English dub is on Netflix right now and it's actually pretty good in my opinion.
