Getting FFXI-3113 all of a sudden. Protocol Timeout Error

see topic title. Exhausted google and every solution it could find for me but nothing has worked. Can't figure this shit out. Any ideas?

FFXI-3113 has been a known problem for years. Some ISPs do not support the ports and tunnels that FFXI/POL requires to connect over the internet.

What service provider do you have, and, are you going straight through to your modem? If not, are you using a router?

Living in a dorm. Tried to manually allow the ports in through firewall with no luck. Straight into the wall, not sure how my school handles it from there. Worked just fine last spring '12 and up until the issue began when I made the post.

My guess is someone ruined it for you via running a irc fileserv on that, so they have blocked the ports. (Most schools have a grand firewall that can block ports without any warning for such a reason.)

You might have to use something like Your Freedom to get past the block. Or get a VPN that can be used as a proxy. Heck, even find a free isp(dialup will work with ffxi) so you can play in peace!
