I really, really do hope most repubs are too lazy to go vote, but sadly it's usually the lower classes that are lower on voter turn-outs, and that could easily bite us in the ass.
I know it seems like everyone hated Bush in 2004 but he did have a 49% approval rating and held a steady, albeit very small, lead throughout the campaign. He also held a strong EC firewall like Obama does this election with FL and OH as red leaning states, and IA, CO, NV,and NM still being red leaning too.

I honestly think this election will end up very close to that one, with Obama winning the popular vote by around 2% and getting around 300 EC votes. I just don't see Romney pulling off a swing state sweep since NV and OH have had Obama ahead for months now without ever switching, and those two alone will win him the election.

Like his huge announcement at the Republican convention that got bumped? Or his huge revelation about Obama's birth certificate?

Fox n' Friends, entertaining the fringe since... forever.

Actually, the '04 polls were pretty accurate with the changes happening before the election.

Maddow did a piece the other night about billboards going up that are highlighting jail time and fines for voter fraud in poor communities and informational hand-outs with the wrong voting dates written only in Spanish next to the correct dates for English.

It just freaks me the fuck out and makes me think of how an actual theft of an election could take place and then be spun as whining liberals equated to birther crazies.

The latest trend is people saying Obama should have a Hawaii group number in his social if he's really from Hawaii.

Do people not know how social security numbers work?

    This is getting fucking retarded.

Man i rathered when people just outright said they dont like black people. This covert 'not one of us' shit reeks of passive aggressive, wishy washy childish yelping. Lets be clear as any birther accusations ultimately find their genesis in racist setiments.

I do enjoy the slowly unwinding far right flailing about anyone who isnt their official brand of white though. The slow isolation of every other group will eventually devour their cause and bear fruit that punishes the party for getting in bed with theocrats and conspiracy minded billionaires.

Those who see this need only keep up the pressure and the far right fringe need only continue putting their foot in their mouths. More rape shutdowns and race baiting please.

That's not even new. It's over two year since it was first "reported". Already Snopes'ed and everything.

People are retarded, the problem is the retarded people repeat stupid things louder and more often than anyone else. People still say he's a communist, socialist fascist. I'm hoping Romney tries to imply that he's any of the 3 at the next debate, the verbal bitch slap to that one will be amazing.

I'm not entirely sure he's serious. I don't know him well enough to be sure. If he is, though... it's not as refreshing as you think.

So I'm cleaning my parents house / helping to organize stuff and I found this. My Grandmother wrote it back in 1992.

    Picture/Text:
    Spoiler: show

"What Gives the GOP the Right to Define Family Values?"
I wonder if anyone else is as angry as I? The Republican convention disgusted me. I hope by now we all know the definition of "Family" and "Family Values". I have just been informed that my son and the two daughters he is rearing do not constitute a family. It's funny, but I thought they did. All I can say is, I'm proud of them.
I believe that if we do not know what family values are, we need to talk to someone who does - like our minister, priest or rabbi, and; if all else fails, we can even use our common sense. We certainly don’t need the Republicans to explain them to us.
Personally, I would much rather have heard about what action would be taken regarding the people out of work and the people living on the streets, the deficits, etc…. Indeed, something should be done about the filth shown on television, but action should be taken and not merely words spoken. I believe in voting for whomever is best qualified for the job, and this year I am a Democrat – viva Clinton and Gore

Sorry for the weirdness, copy past failed. I've never known what her reaction to my being gay would have been, I never got a chance or had the courage to tell her when she was alive. Towards the end I told myself it was better, she would just be upset.

To think that without the "Family Values" machine of the Republicans I would have never known.....well, I'm stymied. On one hand this means a lot to me, on the other I wish it had never been elevated to that place to being with. So I'll just leave this here, so we can remember that 20 years ago they tried to pull this same crap on single parents.

The birther stuff is so desperate, I think Trump might hurt Romney with more of this shit.

I also think the bengahzi attack has been completely over politicized, and also looks desparate.

I am confused. What did I miss about family values? I thought Romney was avoiding that topic since gay marriage is a hot button right now and pressing it would lose him the election.

Bill Maher two weeks ago had Ann Coulter speaking about a book she published, where she claims that racism is gone from America and no longer exists.

When questioned about this, her defense was along the lines of: 'Child molesters are what we should really be worried about! Those are the real problem. I know child molesters. Do you know any racists Bill? Where are all these racists people talk about? I don't know any racists.'

And later said 'the only evidence of racism in current day is the large amount of white people that voted for Obama, which only can be explained by them feeling guilty.'

When Bill asked her to explain that quote from 2008 of 'America isn't ready for its first black president', she said that it wasn't racism because they were actually referencing socialistic policies of his culture and not just his color.

I literally could not believe what I was watching. She has to be trolling us all somehow. Please, she has to.

I asked my Republican friend that was bitching about the timing of the terrorism announcement, and I asked him why it mattered. And he said it mattered because Obama lied about it. So I asked him what was he lying about? And he said the timing. And it just got more circular from there. This is a smart guy that I really respect, but I think a bunch of people have totally lost focus on the issue. Which is why the fuck does it matter? Romney went on TV the night after it happened before anyone knew what was going on, and politicized it and got fucked over, so now it's just ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK and ignore the issue completely.

No one knew what was going on. Criticizing after the fact is a fucking joke.
