Also, yay at Colin Powell being reasonable, like I know he can be. This will drive my Republican friends nuts. In particular, a guy I know that works for environmental management who has in the past specifically said good things about Powell but thinks Obama is a socialist, etc, etc.

I really try to be friends with people regardless of political affiliation, but for me having a fellow environmental scientist vote Republican is sort of like working at an abortion clinic and having a coworker vote Republican. It just strikes me as incredibly offensive.

While funny, I did not do that intentionally.

I, personally, don't like using gendered pronouns if there is any question as to the gender of the person in question. So I will use group genderless pronouns instead. It is sometimes awkward, but there is some historical linguistic justification for doing it over the feminine in cases such as these (when you are talking about a specific individual instead of a generic).

Mentally, for some reason, I always thought of pchan as a woman and Mdkuser as a man. Where pchan was some kind of evil antagonist with mdkuser as her henchman/lackey.

Yeah, gallup is coming back down, rasmussen had a weird couple of days, it's coming back down. IBD/TIPP is going up for Obama. Romney needs to move up more to nab the states he needs. He's not doing that, at least not over the past week or two.

LOL You sound like very close friend of mine that works on Capitol Hill. She is almost intentionally freaking herself out.

This is the reason that I think claims of media bias are retarded. The media doesn't want Obama to win, they just want a close race to sell stories.

Remember before the first debate, it was a dead heat even when Obama was way ahead in the polls. Now it is a dead heat again.

I think what's worrying is that the polls seem close enough that the suppression and intimidation efforts would make up the difference. I'd hope not and that the early voting campaigns have a big enough effect, but it's to the point any lead Obama has still doesn't seem like enough in the face of whatever shit gets pulled.
