He has FEMA people on ground iirc in all the proposes areas that were expected to see damage. Unless he pulls a Bush I don't see how they can spin this negatively for him, Romney confirmed on Sunday he was still against FEMA and wanted to get rid of it, god help him when that gets thrown in his face barely a week before election.

Even here in central New York I've seen FEMA vans driving around for about a week.

All Obama needs to do now is take a sound bite of what Romney wants to do about disaster relief, and repeat it over footage of what happened in NYC last night.
(And for red states, footage from Katrina, the tornados, whatever was the last bad hurricane for Florida, etc.)

Yup. And with no debate to actually explain in context, it'll actually do damage. Kinda hard for mittens to make a commercial explaining giving the powers of fema to states, or further to make the services privatized.

Problem with that is the hurricane hit blue states hard, not swing states. I mean, Ohio got hit a bit, and I guess VA too, but did they get hit FEMA hard? I guess maybe if those swing state voters sympathize, then you can get somewhere.

Truth is, however, this election is pretty much cooked, there's not much left in the way of ingredients. There's not enough undecideds left to turn the election, it's about turnout at this point.

Well, they have the money to do it any ways. If it keeps even a few reds from voting, or switching, then it might help keep blue states blue or swing states from being affected as much.

Sounds like some conservatives want an Obama's Katrina so bad they're rewriting reality again? But what's new about that.

Romney speaking now at his "storm relief event" coincidentally held in the exact spot as the campaign event he "cancelled" yesterday. What a fucking blowhole, If he dares politicize this, it will probably be his final mistake.

Oh Randy Owen from Alabama is there to perform, that's probably normal for storm relief events.

Edit: He at least played it safe. Still a fucking political stunt, still trash.

Edit: Pic in Dailly Kos comments showed them playing campaign ad to audience. Dudes got balls of steel.

He brings up a good point. Romney could outperform McCain by 5% (including winning Ohio) across the board and still lose to Obama.

thats where vote flipping comes in! Turn that -5% upside-down! -5% to 5% voila!

so on fox nation, there are "tags" you can vote for for each news story. The ~8 adjectives you can choose from are things like "obnoxious," "scary," "inspiring," etc. It follows an extremely predictable pattern, as you could assume, with anything Obama is in being scary or obnoxious.

Today, the top story is the destruction of Sandy. The article is completely apolitical and just talks about the damage so far. So what adjective do people assign to the story? "Funny." wtf

had a "political discussion" with a woman i work with whos so anti-obama that shes pro romney. she made a few points i didn't have good responses to, but i felt were wrong. figured you guys might clarify for me:

1: in response to "romneys going to cap your deductions, including child tax credit and mortgage interest, at 2500$/year" she replied with "Obama tried to take away your mortgage interest deduction a few years ago" - calling bullshit, he'd have been drawn and quarted over it, but is there something they're spinning/misrepresenting or is it 100% bull?

2: benghazi was some convoluted conspiracy that involved someone selling american weapons to terrorists, and the attack/riots/w/e were a cover for going in and getting the guns back and killing the ppl who knew about it. i'm fairly underinformed concerning benghazi but .... wtf? smells of rush

theres more, but it was so lulzy that i won't waste your time.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama dipped his toe in modifying home mortgage interest deductions at some point in the past 4 years (and then beat a hasty retreat).

As far as Benghazi, no idea wtf she's talking about.

I can't be the only one that really gives 0 shits about the politics of Benghazi right? It doesn't make sense to me. "Oh they knew people wanted to kill them." Why does this matter? They had their security funding cut, and I'm sure they did what they could, but at the end of the day...

How is Obama held responsible at all for this?

Obama wants to eliminate the mortgage interest deduction for upper income individuals, peoples making $250,000+ a year. as far as i know he never attempted to "take it away".

but the number Romney has stated as a cap limit for annual itemized deductions is $25,000 a year, not $2,500

2 is not worth the breath you would waste discussing it

It was on the Glen Beck Radio Show a few days ago. Some caller in full tin foil gear called in and someone at Fox must have been listening and ran with the story of a cover-up conspiracy that reminds me of Cold War era illegal weapons trading. Now the conspiracy theorists have convinced the far right that this is what actually happened.
