Please, do explain how "planes and long range missiles" and "drones 20 mins away" could have been used to protect the people inside the embassy from the other people inside the embassy.

I watched it, because I think it's helpful to be aware of such things. I'm not kidding when the producer's argument is, "All black people look alike". Then goes on for 90 minutes to try and scare white people about communist boogeymen, all the while reasserting that black people look the same.

It is some of the most insane, racist shit I've experienced.

I honestly can't believe shit like this works. Who views this and goes, "omg! they're right!"? Does this really fuel a get-out-the-vote effort?

There was a strike team 30 min away, military could send drones to attack the forces outside the embassy.

There's a pretty good interview with the father of one of the navy seals here.

Just so we're clear, the fathers reaction to his son dying is irrelevant. His son was a Navy SEAL; his son wasn't in the military to roll in a field of daisies, it's to fight battles and possibly die doing so for his country.

Now to actually refute your comment, what good would a "strike team" 30min away from the embassy do for them? The whole idea of said team would be for rapid deployment, so they couldn't exactly be at the embassy "full time"; and when the riots were happening, no one was looking at them thinking "You know, this shit has Al Qaeda written all over it", they were saying "Man these Muslims be some mad people, better stay indoors for awhile". Even if the team were deployed after the first attack on our embassy was confirmed, chances are they would either be too late any ways, or would have died along with the other americans there.

In a way, we saved lives by not putting more security on detail. The only way we could have prevented the loss of american lives in this event was to just close down our embassy there; but that would make us look "weak", and people are already bitching about MURIKA looking weak to North Africa and the Middle East already.

It's not easy being a President, got all these dumb ass constituents commenting like they know shit.
