I thought this picture was kinda funny

readin is hard
the attack consisted of a force of roughly 150 gunmen bearing RPGs, hand grenades, heavy machine guns, mortars, and vehicle-mounted artillery + the attackers sealed off the streets leading to the compound with gun trucks prior to the assault
i'm not saying a drone strike or dropping soldiers into Benghazi would have been the right choice, better to have engaged in proper prevention than a hasty response, but this wasn't some clandestine terror cell attacking from the cover of a civilian mob. it was an organized military assault.
Yikes. That would've taken a huge security force to repel.
Did like, a bunch of Americans escape? How did only 4 die?
only seven Americans were even stationed there at the time + they had safe havens walled off behind metal grills with reinforced locks. attackers couldn't punch through so they pored diesel fuel over the grill and set it aflame, Stevens died from the asphyxiation. the security cameras gave the security agents enough warning to get most consulate personnel to safety. others Americans died when a reaction force from a nearby CIA site came out to evacuate/secure the compound and came under fire en route. engagement lasted for about 15 minutes before the assailants broke it off and retreated
Ah ok. What a terrible way to die.
So...Stevens probably would have still died if we had more security there? And the other deaths from the attack are from people protecting the embassy which is what people have been crying they wish happened in the first place.
Now I'm just even more mad at the amount of QQ we're hearing over this.
local civilians recovered Stevens three hours after the initial assault, after the CIA reaction force arrived on the scene and cleared the compound. the American rescue team did not come under fire while evacuating the remaining civilians or searching for Stevens (who they did not find) suggesting the assailants had already left by then and were making their way over to the CIA annex to stage part 2 of the assault.
i haven't seen the security camera footage, classified and all, but bros say it's very clear a hundred+ armed men flowed into the compound from several directions. no mention of civilians is made
civilians may have been on the scene initially but the streets leading to the compound were cordoned off by the attackers prior to the assault and any who were there probably got the hell out of dodge once firing broke out, as civilians are wont to do, not returning or arriving on the scene until later when the attack had ended
Hey guys. Children are smarter than us!
i'd love to keep what i earned, but somehow 30-40% of my check disappears before i even get a chance to see it every week....
Sounds like Obama is your man, considering taxes under Obama have been the lowest of any president since WWII.
what? "lower the top rate and broaden the base" surely means more money for me.
Oh Swamp, you're back and now you're pretending you know about the military.
Haha.
Get out.
