Find a way to convert it to a video, load it in VLC.

Right-click the video in the VLC window and choose "Video > Set as Wallpaper."

Go to preferences to the interface to remove VLC from taskbar, and disable notifications in the Windows notifiction area so you don't get a pop-up each time the video loops. Also turn off the file name so it doesn't show at the bottom of your screen.

Seems more likely, as the only thing it has in common with the D3 barb is red hair and being butch, really. I'm blanking on the name of the older game that was sort of God of War-ish that also had a redhead warrior chick, but I don't think she was as buff.

If you wanted a clean animated background, don't use pixel art for games. I think it defeats the point though.
