I can kind of relate because it's so damn hard to get exactly what you want unless you're just handed money and told, "Here, buy what you want," especially by parents who, with the generation gap, have no idea what the difference actually is between a Kindle or an iPad and why one might want one over the other. Then again, really, I can't really relate to it on quite the same scale, as the most expensive thing my parents ever bought for me before I left their house was one of those record player/tape player/CD player combination stereos back in like, 1993.

I honestly can't imagine being so angry about getting the wrong color of something, like it's seriously going to matter that the $600 gift I got was exactly what I wanted except for the color, which has absolutely no effect on its functionality. Buy an eight dollar decal for it and bling it out for fuck's sake.

The point isn't that they're complaining about the color, or the wrong model, or even the wrong product altogether. The point is that they're complaining about a GIFT. It's not something they're entitled to. It's something that somebody got for them out of love and caring. You don't complain about gifts EVER.

Now, it does take SOME time to learn this basic part of human decency, but really, by the time you hit teenage years, you should know this shit.
